What exactly is a sticky, what it for and how used?

Quest

A sticky is simply a post that you want to keep at the forefront of your forum, rather than allowing it to slip down as time passes. Make it sticky and sticks at the top in a prominent position for your users to see. Use them for important information. You can unsticky a sticky later if you wish.

My issue is with the order in which the stickies appear. I want my forum rules to remain at the very top of the list of sticky posts (just like an Announcement in phpBB for instance) but as it stands, they act in the same way as any other post in that the latest sticky goes to the top of the forum.

In AMS preferences it has the option to change to Koivi but when I edit the article, there seems to be no change to the XOOPS Default editor....? Is it installed already?

I can get borders etc by first creating the article in Dreamweaver but it just doesn't wrap the text properly.

Cheers.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how I go about formatting a news item? I would like to have the text 'wrap' around a photo.

I am extremely grateful for the replies, honestly. It's very frustrating for a beginner who is bogged down with a technical problem beyond his ability. It's only with a more responsive and communicative community that such a valuable peice of software as XOOPS is, will continue to grow, expand and reach out to develop it's userbase.

A certain member, by the name of Dana, approached me and suggested that a particular module was to blame for the block stretching. The culprit was the CafePress module which felt the need to take up the entire page when not displaying a recent product. A new product is displayed upon refresh but every once in while, it came up blank which in turn, resulted in the stretch.

I have now removed the offending block and all appears as it should.

It's an 'occasional' issue in that it chooses when it wants to render correctly or not. Most often it appears fine but then just as you think it's fixed itself, bosh, stretchification!

Pressing F5 from time to time doesn't bother me but a couple of visitors have commented. A complete noob might take one look at it and assume it's a really naff site and move on.

Have I posted this in the wrong forum? Is there anyone out there that might be able to shed light on this?

If it's down to money, I haven't got any but I am able to create banners, buttons, bits and bobs in exchange for some help...
