How do I make a sticky topic remain at the very top of the forum after other sticky topics are added, rather than get relegated to the bottom of the pile?

CBB 2.32 btw

Cheers.

I would love to know too! I do know a way to do it, but you would have to be able to access your Database.. You can set the record ID lower than the others and it should move it to the top I believe..

im not positive but i think the stickies are sorted by date of last post. just like the regular forum threads..

.but thats a neat idea though. stickies with weight.

Thanks guys!

I have access to the database with the aid of phpMyAdmin but wouldn't have a clue where to edit.

I think phpBB does this with Announcements rather than Stickies.

I have put these questions off for ages. Kinda embarassed to ask but I can't stand it anymore!

What exactly is a sticky, what it for and how used?

A sticky is simply a post that you want to keep at the forefront of your forum, rather than allowing it to slip down as time passes. Make it sticky and sticks at the top in a prominent position for your users to see. Use them for important information. You can unsticky a sticky later if you wish.

My issue is with the order in which the stickies appear. I want my forum rules to remain at the very top of the list of sticky posts (just like an Announcement in phpBB for instance) but as it stands, they act in the same way as any other post in that the latest sticky goes to the top of the forum.
