I just modified the module and groups to allow anonmous users access to submit, etc. (I hope I checked all the relevant boxes.)

I'm using Web Links version 0.93. I believe Frameworks is installed, but I'm working through that in another forum. I have the Frameworks folder in the root directory, but I don't see anything about Frameworks in XOOPS Info or in the Admin control panel.

I'll worry about the typos later. Please let me know if you have access now.

Thanks,
Jim

I noticed something a little bit strange in xoops_version.php. This is the entire file Quote:

* @since 1.00
* @version $Id$
* @package Frameworks
*/

define("XOOPS_FRAMEWORKS_VERSION", "1.10")
?>

It appears to be an incomplete script (no opening < tag). If it is included by another file before it is run, I guess that's fine, but I thought I would check to make sure this is the proper xoops_version.php file.

Thanks,
Jim

Well, I have a Frameworks folder at the root level (not in /modules).

But I don't see anything about Frameworks or XoopsEditor in XOOPS Info, and there's no xoopseditor folder under /modules.

My host said they had installed these.

Do I need to install Frameworks differently?

Will XoopsEditor show up as a module?

Since they come from a Chinese site, I couldn't figure out how to get these answers.

Thanks!

I'm also having problems.

I get a blank page/block for CBB on both the user side and the admin side. Since the admin side is blank, I can't even get started.

One thing, CBB is installed in a folder called newbb. Is that a problem? (My host installed it. I checked the readme file to make sure it is cbb and not newbb.)

Thanks,
Jim

Web Links: link displays but does not redirect

I tested my first link in the Web Links module. It seems to display just fine. However, when I click on it to test whether the link works, I stay on a page in my own site (not the linked site):

http://hoahuntersrun.com/modules/weblinks/visit.php?lid=1

This is a blank page that opens in a new window/tab. The new window/tab seems to be the correct function for this module, but do I need to edit visit.php so that it redirects to the appropriate web site?

Thanks,
Jim

Also, I noticed a few minor cosmetic issues, with misspellings (managemnet for management in a few places, mostly in the admin screen, but one commnet field instead of comment field). Can I edit these just within the php files themselves?

My host says they have "mod security installed to prevent these types of exploits".

Somehow, that doesn't make me feel great, but otherwise my host (OpenSourceHost.com) has been great. So, does "mod security" give me similar protection?

Thanks,
Jim

Well, I put the php.ini file in all the folders you mentioned, and it's still on, according to the test script from dave as well as the red dot in XOOPS Info.

Does the php.ini file take care of the matter somehow behind the scenes?

Thanks,
Jim

Quote:
use php_admin_flag allow_url_fopen off instead of php_flag allow_url_fopen off

Vaughan, when I tried this, my admin menu would not load and the page looked like this:
Quote:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@hoahuntersrun.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.37 Server at hoahuntersrun.com Port 80

Do I need my host to restart the server or something like that? When I change .htaccess back, everything looks fine, without restarting or anything.

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks, Dave.

It's on.

Quote:
"resource(3) of type (stream)"

Before I contact my host provider about this, does (3) mean something different from the (5) in your example?

In any case, my host provider is saying it is disabled, which clearly is not the case.

Great, easy test. Thanks!

Jim

I'm also having some problems with allow_url_openf.

My XOOPS Info has a red dot next to this parameter, but my host said that this option is disabled system-wide. I checked a file called .htaccess in my root (public_html) folder, and it has the following line:

php_flag allow_url_fopen off

So, it seems to me that my host is doing the right thing here, but somehow XOOPS Info is maybe looking in httpd.conf or some other file for the same setting. I don't have access to httpd.conf; at least I don't see it in my file manager from my hosting provider.

Does anyone know how I can confirm whether I'm protected against allow_url_fopen?

Thanks!
