Hello,

I just upgraded to XOOPS 2.0.16 and can't install/run CBB2.3.

I have PHP 4.4.4, MySQL 4.0.27-standard

The errors I get when installing CBB are:

Fatal error: Class newbbposthandler: Cannot inherit from undefined class xoopspersistableobjecthandler in /home/horse/public_html/showez/modules/newbb/class/post.php on line 515
All errors (4) queries (254) blocks (0) extra (1) timers (3)

Notice: Only variables should be assigned by reference in file /modules/newbb/class/permission.php line 178
Notice: Only variable references should be returned by reference in file /modules/newbb/class/permission.php line 227

Can anyone help or suggest another version of cbb that will work with XOOPS 2.0?

Thanks,
Deb

3.08?

I would advise the usual backup of site & database - etc before installing - and of course, make sure you install the Frameworks & Xoopseditor files (both available from dev.xoops.org) in the correct place...

Hi dwhitten,

There are other options as well to consider. We (no I'm not royal) have installed a slightly hacked version of newbbex (an excellent and very light) forum on http://helpxoops.info.

I converted our old forum (cbb 3.08) using open office calc (export of old system... input to new). I plan on placing a document on How-to do that on the http://helpxoops.info site in the next few days.

Bon chance!

I have a backup of my forum tables. The tables for cbb 3.08 were different. In order to get the data to insert, I added dummy fields as a couple tables had less fields than the old tables.

So I managed to get all the data inserted into the database, the topics and post counts come out ok, but none of the post texts come out. All the posts are blank.

So - how do I convert the database from newbb 2.3 to cbb 3.08? I blew away my tables when I installed the latest version. I could go back to the original tables as I do have a backup...

But if I go back to 2.3 how do I upgrade to 3.08?

Help.

Thanks,
Deb

I'm also having problems.

I get a blank page/block for CBB on both the user side and the admin side. Since the admin side is blank, I can't even get started.

One thing, CBB is installed in a folder called newbb. Is that a problem? (My host installed it. I checked the readme file to make sure it is cbb and not newbb.)

Thanks,
Jim

CBB is Newbb.

Please make sure you follow the details on dev.xoops.org - and also install the "Frameworks" and "Xoopseditor" files which can be found there.

Well, I have a Frameworks folder at the root level (not in /modules).

But I don't see anything about Frameworks or XoopsEditor in XOOPS Info, and there's no xoopseditor folder under /modules.

My host said they had installed these.

Do I need to install Frameworks differently?

Will XoopsEditor show up as a module?

Since they come from a Chinese site, I couldn't figure out how to get these answers.

Thanks!

I noticed something a little bit strange in xoops_version.php. This is the entire file Quote:

* @since 1.00
* @version $Id$
* @package Frameworks
*/

define("XOOPS_FRAMEWORKS_VERSION", "1.10")
?>

It appears to be an incomplete script (no opening < tag). If it is included by another file before it is run, I guess that's fine, but I thought I would check to make sure this is the proper xoops_version.php file.

Thanks,
Jim
