While the reviews modules I've seen are otherwise fine, they do not provide a full database, which is what I'm really looking for: one page for every game that automatically allows screenshots, reviews, previews etc. to be added and displayed on that particular page.

I own and run a few gaming websites (example: RevoGaming). While I am happy with my decision to use XOOPS as a CMS, I am frustrated that there is no apparent software that will allow me to have a game database similar to the one seen at Cubed3, below:

Cubed3 Games DB

Although the main page for the section etc. would be nice, I am mainly interested in the individual GamePages such as the ones at the link above. This would include an easy screenshots method, a review page, a preview page etc.

My current method is to post them via the Sections module, however this is very inefficient and cumbersome.

If anyone knows of a module that could at least improve on the functionality offered by Sections, it would be much appreciated. A dedicated database module would be wonderful.

I've searched for other threads on this subject, and while they are numerous, none of them seem to offer a coherent solution. I'm posting this in the hope that one of the more senior/experienced members will see this and might know an answer >_>

I've been the webmaster of Nintendo Revolution Gaming for a few weeks now. Recently, after a slightly foolish mistake of mine to put the wf-section files into my XOOPS root directory, I began to get an error relating to include/common.php. A re-upload of the file from by site backup fixed the problem.

Following that, my site began to show up with the news, sections, newbb modules etc. all intact. However, when trying to access the admin.php file or the login/registration file, I got an error, paraphrased below:

FATAL ERROR: Call by a member function to a non-object in header.php on line 100.

After logging in directly to the admin section via /modules/system/admin.php, I was able to update the system admin module and change some group permissions. I am now faced with the same problem as previously, however, I get a different error message:

Selected module does not exist!

However, this error is displayed with header, footer and all blocks intact on the page.

I have noticed that the above error applies to most php files in the root directory, e.g. login.php, register.php and admin.php.

I have read in a few threads that this may be a php or IIS/Apache issue. I am in the process of contacting my host and seeing whether they have made any upgrades etc. on the server.

If anybody could help, it would be much appreciated.

If you have MSN Messenger or the like, you could PM me your details and we could discuss it over IM. I could also send you files etc. through the IM network.

I can't do that right now, m0nty. However, you can download the files from my server:

The root directory ishttp://www.revogaming.net/html. Any files you want can be downloaded from their usual XOOPS locations.

After looking into it more, it seems that the php files in the root directory relating to modules do not work correctly, and all return the same ''Selected module does not exist!'' error.

For example:

/modules/system/admin.php works
/admin.php doesn't

/search.php doesn't work

/user.php doesn't work

etc.

The problem isn't that the start page module is not displaying, I get the module error when trying to access user or admin functions. You can see for yourself at:

Nintendo Revolution Gaming

Try clicking the 'Register' link for example, and you will get the module error.

I deleted and re-uploaded, and got the same problem. However, now that I did what you suggested with line 98, when I click the 'Administration Menu' link I get to a blank page saying 'Selected module does not exist!'. I re-checked and I do have a system folder in /modules, especially considering that I can access admin.php via direct link.

Maybe a re-upload of the modules folder is in order?

I can now get through to admin menu by direct link, but not one through the User Menu. Login via the usual fields in the top left does not work, however login through the quick reply section in the forum does.

The user.php login does not work.

I always get the error in header.php. I have replaced the file to no avail.

The error, as shown by XOOPS with a common.php error display:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /www/r/revogamingne/htdocs/html/header.php on line 100

Line 100:

$xoopsTpl->assign('xoops_pagetitle', $xoopsModule->getVar('name'));
