I almost got this thing working. How do you make it so that the real name also shows up on the User activation key notification sent to webmasters (when activation type is set to 'activation by administrator').

Please can somebody answer this and I will be all set.

I need some help with modifying the registration form. I haven't searched a lot on the subject and those that I did find was unclear to me. What is the easiest way to modify the form? At the least, I only need to add a required "Real Name" field. This means that the new registration notification and activation key notification sent to the webmaster should also include this new information.

Is there an already existing modified version around? Can somebody point me to the right direction. Or, is there some module around that can do this?

Thanks for your help guys.

I tried the spotlight module but for I can't get the separate topics to display under the spotlighted article (like the home page of this site). Anybody know how to do this?

What kind of block is the Latest XOOPS News at the home page of this site? I have News 1.21 and I'm trying to use a block that will display The latest news similar to this with the latest news of some of the other topics listed also. Is this a custom template you guys are using? If so, can you guys share it?

XOOPS_URL i believe change from
http://website/xoops

to

http://website

and all should be ok!

if not what errors are you getting?

And make sure to move all the XOOPS files from the xoop directory to your root http folder.

That basically allows you to set the block display order. Smallest number is at the topmost of the page. This is very useful in your home page if there are a lot of blocks.

Does anybody know if News 1.2 makes this task easier? I might just upgrade to 1.2 if it makes any difference. What's the main advantage of upgrading anyway?

But won't doing that delete all Posted by lines? I only want to hide Posted by when the item is posted by a particular user (e.g. webmaster).

I don't know where to post this request so I'll just post it here. Some of my users are complaining about some features of the News 1.1. It's not because the module sucks it's just because they're too picky. I'm not really good at programming (that's why I use XOOPS in the first place), so I need the help of you expert module programmers out there. I need the template for News 1.1 modified so that the "Posted by:" part is not displayed when it is posted by specified uids.

Can somebody please post a modified template. I would really appreciate it.

You might check out the Registration Keys module. It sounds like it might help you out some. I haven't used it, but I was surfing through the module repository and found it.

This looks like a great solution but it seems like the module is more complicated than just changing a line on one file. Besides, it looks like the author used version 2.0.6 when making this module. Anybody have success using this module on current version of xoops?
