Hi Gang,

currently I use "Notify me of any new posts (include full text in message)." for my forums. I would like the PM/Email I recieve to include the name of the person who posted the message to the forum. Currently it does not do this. Is there a way to include the user name in this notification?

Thanks

Jeff

Hopefully someone can help me... Thanks to Mithrandir my members can all receive forum posts via email with full text. Is there some code that could be added that would grab the name of the person making the post and put that in the email as well??? In other words if a member selects "notify me of any new posts and include the full text of the post" can this be made to include the name of the person making the post?

Hi, I run a postnuke site with approx. 1100 users and 20-30 users online at any one time. I can tell you through conversations with my host that PostNuke uses a LOT of resources. I also have a XOOPS site although it is MUCH smaller. So you may want to consider a new host as opposed to switching to PostNuke.

Hi, here's what I want....

The ability to choose which items I want sent in the newsletter. Currently PP-News comes preset to send
Last 5 Weblinks
Last 5 Downloads
Last 5 News Items
Last 5 Polls

I would also like it to have automation. By that I mean have it automatically be sent every day, month, bi-weekly or whatever I choose without user intervention. Almost like an automated mailing list with digest capabilities.

This way I could set it up to gather all posts made to the forums in one day and have it send out that info. at the end of each day to subscribers.

I'm wondering if anyone in Xoopsland has modded or hacked the PP-News module? I have it running on a 2.0.6 installation and it works fine but I'd like different choices than the defaults:
1. Polls
2. Downloads
3. Weblinks
4. News

I'd like to be able to send the 10 latest forum posts, reviews, etc... Was also wondering if the mailing could be automated? Could you automate it so that the newsletter were mailed out automatically 1 time a day, 1 time a week, a month, etc..

Anyone have any ideas??

Look no further than xcgallery... It is widely used and therefore many folks have experience with it. It will do all the things you mention and more. Just type xcgallery in the search box and you'll see many topics.
