Just do a custom block with links in it and spaces between the links and call it Main Menu....

Quote:

Main Menu
Home

FAQ's

Forum

Links

Members

and the code for the above would be:
[*url=http://www.yourdomain.com/]Home

[*url=http://www.yourdomain.com/modules/xoopsfaq/]FAQ's

[*url=http://www.yourdomain.com/modules/newbb/]Forum

[*url=http://www.yourdomain.com/modules/mylinks/]Links

[*url=http://www.yourdomain.com/modules/xoopsmembers/]Members

"without asterix"

You can have whatever links you want in there. Be aware though, if you install a new module it will not automatically link itself to your new main menu, you will have to insert the link to your new module manually by editing your new main menu custom block.

Good Luck,
Marty.

can you have subdomains??

maybe you could do a static page at the main domain and have a subdomain for each of the groups that you have....and just have a XOOPS site set up in each subdomain.

the only problem with this is you would need to use a different database for each group......but would do exactly as you want. Would only take a bit of time to set up.

You could have for instance:

http://www.boyscouts.com with the main page which would be a static html index file with some info and links to the subdomains like:

http://young.boyscouts.com , http://older.boyscouts.com and http://oldest.boyscouts.com

you could do the same with the girlscouts....

would be a bit of work to set up but i think would serve a good purpose......or maybe not.....

I don't know about a module that could do as you want. Sorry

Marty.

I think that is actually the partners module with a name change......

just go: admin menu>system admin>modules find the partners module and under the module logo there is a box with the module name in it.....change the name and click submit and then click submit again....

you will need to have the "Partners" module installed first to do this.

you can do this with all modules to give it your personal feel.

edit> or it is a custom block
Hope this helped, if not sorry.....

Marty.

Hi Luminosity, this is not going to help fix your problem but more to inform you that you do have a problem as I personally have 3 sites all using comments and smilies without problems so to answer one of your questions - yes it is possible to have smilies in comments.

My sites are standard installs as comes out of the XOOPS box - meaning I did nothing to get them to work.

Good luck,
Marty.

I think your site looks great jonas......

The main thing is there is over a billion people out there surfing the net and each and every one of them is after a certain niche....it doesn't matter what your site looks like cosmetically....if you have the content that people want they will come back no matter how it looks......btw I like the new theme better then the other one you had - more professional looking.

Take critisism with a grain of salt...don't go changing your entire site format just because one or ten people don't like it...

Marty

Hi jonas000, you site looks good mate. It can take 8 to 10 weeks for search engines to include your site from when you submit it so just be patient. Try joining a webring in your field and have your site URL in your signature on all forums that you frequent. Main thing, be patient and ensure you are constantly providing new information......people won't come back if your latest post is a month old.

Good luck,
Marty.
