Let me make a little correction: I've restored the backup today and seen that the previous newbb was 2.0.1 not 2.3... Pardon me for that.

I've upgraded my system from Xoops 2.0.17 to 3.08 and system module version is 2.1... There seemed no problem with this
and have upgraded the newsbb module from2.3 2.0.1 to 3.0.8
The recent topics block works fine, shows usernames as they should be, but the viewtopic.php.
When i click on a topic, the viewtopic.php shows all users as "Guest"s (2) and also the dropdown menus are shown static (1) as seen in the screenshot:
