thx for your reply but what do i change them settings to ???? what shall i put in place of the things thats already there or what shall i turn on ?

You put down what i should be looking at but u didnt say what i should be putting down


this is my first ever site so forgive me if i dont get what u mean right away

to tell u the truth i dont know if downgrading would be the right thing to do but i dont know what else to do

theres a few problems

quite a few people can not log on the site they get a message saying "thank u for loggin in" but they are not logged in they just get sent back top the fron page where they have to log in again

And the few people that can log in , half the time they cant post on the forums they get a message saying "page can not be displayed"

theres a few more things but those are the 2 main things i need to sort out quick

Is there any way i change change my XOOPS version to 2.0.5 ( i think that was the last one ) , i installed the new patch but i've had nothing but problems with it i asked a m8 of him but he wasnt sure that the site would be ok if i changed it back to the old patch

i think i can help on question 2

Ok log onto your FTP ( i use WS_FTP very easy to use ) , on there go through your folders thats on your database NOT the folders thats on your harddrive , locate the "theme" folder go into that , then upload the theme u want into that folder. When that is done go onto your site and go into the admin menu , click the "system" button the go onto preferences then general settings once u are in there scroll down the page into u see "default theme" change it to the one u want then click "go" at the bottom of the page , when u go onto your home game u should see the new theme


hope that helps ( it's what i did anyway )

I've sorted that now , all i had to do was replace that flie on my database with the one i have on my harddrive and it's sorted


But i do have another problem , some people cant use or even get on my forums , when ever they try to click on them it just says error page cannot be displayed , but i've not had any trouble with it , some times they can get on but most of the time they cant any ideas why this is and how to fix it ?

Hi i use XOOPS verson 2.0.6

earlyer today my webhost went down , it's come back up now but when ever i try and log onto my site i get this message

This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

If you are the administrator of this site, please visit the XOOPS Troubleshooting Page for assistance.

Error [Xoops]: Unable to connect to database in file class/database/databasefactory.php line 34



and i dont know how to fix it , can somone plz help
