Thanks for the suggestion.

I've checked the Group permissions and guests have no access to the user profile module.

Under the permissions, nothing is visible to guests.

After confirming access I updated the system and user profile modules.

The problem persists. Same issue if someone selects the lost password link.

More suggestions please.

On my site, logging in is no problem if you get it right. The "you don't have permission " message is an endless loop if a mistake is made.
Works fine in testing.
What file(s) must be missing/corrupt in production to be causing this?

It is the same process as upgrading from 2.3.0.

See this thread.

I don't see that file in the location indicated in any of my sites. In the root/Frameworks/Art folder there is a xoops_version.php file indicating

* @version $Id: xoops_version.php 1901 2008-07-26 04:05:57Z phppp $
* @package Frameworks
*/
define("XOOPS_FRAMEWORKS_ART_VERSION", "1.0.0"

I'm not sure that is the answer you seek. Where else might this be found?

I am using XOOPS 2.3.1. I upgraded from 2.2.4.

Frameworks? Tell me how to determine that and I'll let you know.

Any news on this front?
I have tested with new posts and updated the module with no issues. But maybe I'm just lucky?

Update of template set solved this issue.

The issue cascades through all modules.

Posts that were previously identified by a full display name in 2.2.x e.g. John Smith of ABC Co. are now identified by the username that was set by the member at registration, can contain no spaces, and might be anything at all.

This can be combated by a setting in CBB3.08 with a preference to show the realname of the member in the post.

Solved.

I was using a different template set in the original site. Everything works fine with the default template.

You should upgrade to 2.3.1.

There appears to be no setting for this. It will mean editing a template perhaps.

The block is displaying the uname data for the user. I would like it to display the name data from the database.

Someone who knows please chip in soon. This is a full stop for the site I wanted back up in a couple of hours.
