problem in newbb after upgrade to xoops 2.3.1

We had a site that worked with XOOPS 2.2, and after we upgrade to XOOPS 2.3.1 in apparently everything works well. Then, we update the modules from admin
But after updating the module, all the data in newbb were deleted. something about 25000 posts and 900 topics. aproximately 50 mb were off the database after updating the modules. we did this upgrade process on a subdomain, and the main server software versions didn't change.

After updating, we sent a post (made a topic) in forum and again updated the module. again that post was gone!

Maybe no-one else has the problem so doesn't feel able to comment? Whole string of posts saying "works okay for me" might be a little demoralising and, ultimately, pointless.

But here goes....

However, there are two pieces of Voltan's jigsaw missing... Frameworks and xoopseditors and I'll list what works for me in the hope that it will help:

1. I found that had to add the /dhtmlext folder from the xoopseditors 1.21 package to the class/xoopseditor folder that comes with XOOPS 2.3.x to get rid of a blank screen, and...

2. My sites have the following Frameworks files installed in this order (which might be critical):

a) Frameworks 1.22
b) Frameworks 1.22 files overwritten by the Frameworks files from the 2.3.0 Upgrade package
c) Frameworks from the 2.3.0 to 2.3.1 Upgrade on top of both the above

In other words, I did not delete Frameworks 1.22 when upgrading.

I take it back.... the above doesn't work properly for me either

I refreshed the module in Modules admin and all post text from two (of three) categories were wiped, posts from Forums in the third category were wiped and all posts since 26th July 2008 were gone.

Thankfully, this is on my testbed site so posts easily restored.

More testing needed.

BEWARE: Do not update CBB 3.08 in modules admin if you're using XOOPS 2.3.x (and make sure you have a back-up!)

Any news on this front?
I have tested with new posts and updated the module with no issues. But maybe I'm just lucky?

I've heard nothing new. Has anyone raised this directly with phppp and Bandit-X (the devs)?

New posts are not a problem for me, and all the blocks work okay too.

I tried adding new categories and forums (and posts to them) and this was fine, but this was after I lost posts. Haven't tested this on a fully populated database.

What Frameworks set up are you using? This may be the key.

Are you on XOOPS 2.3.x or XOOPS 2.0.x?

I am using XOOPS 2.3.1. I upgraded from 2.2.4.

In your xoops_root/Frameworks folder there's a file called xoops_version.php - open this in a text editor (e.g. notepad) and see what it says.

I'm using Frameworks 1.22 with some of it's files overwritten by files from the 2.3.0 upgrade and then agaian by the 2.3.0-->3.2.1 upgrade.

I don't see that file in the location indicated in any of my sites. In the root/Frameworks/Art folder there is a xoops_version.php file indicating

I'm not sure that is the answer you seek. Where else might this be found?
