Goto System Admin>Modules, you will see the modules are numbered 0=hide from main menu, 1=show on main menu, you can simply order the modules by setting different numbers so it would be like:

News - 1
Reviews - 2
Forum - 3
Frozen Bubble - 4
Members - 5

Just like that,to order the module links on the main menu.

Odd, can only view site through ISP proxy server

I have encountered a rather odd problem, for some reason i can only view my site at http://mjtkop.com/home/ when connected through my ISP proxy server, when I disable the proxy through I.E's internet options I just get a blank page, however I can view 2 other XOOPS sites I have on the same server no problem.

I dont have any module set as a start page, although I dont think its anything to do with xoops, I was just wondering if anyone else has experianced anything similar so i can perhaps find a solution.

I use I.E6 with windows XP home sp2, and my ISP is NTL.

Thanks.

Log in to phyMyAdmin,

Go to the table "xoops_cdbase_lyrics". Change the field "id" from data type tinyint(4) to int(8) and make it UNSIGNED to get even higher values.

You will have to do this also for adding discs and song titles as well at some piont.

I got the above tip from a comment post on here ages ago, so thanks to whoever posted it.

are you trying to install IPB standalone or the xipb module from www.bbpixel.com ?

If youre trying to install a standalone IPB i.e one you downloaded from invisionboard.com then I dont think this can be installed as a standard XOOPS module.

The xipb mod from bbpixel is a hacked version of ipb 1.3 made to install as a XOOPS module, although it does require overwriting some XOOPS core files.

If it is xipb your trying to install then you just upload content of upload directory within the zip file you downloaded to your XOOPS root directory then install as a normal module, there should be instructions in an html file on how to install it within the module package.

The guys at www.bbpixel.com are pretty helpful though should you be having more problems.

Xoops vs Mambo? personally I think XOOPS would come out on top every time, I love xoops, it's the best. And heres why:

My first venture into CMS to build a site was over a year ago and I had only experiace with a little HTML no php, sql or any other CMS, I installed mambo first to mess about and after 3 days I just thought it was taking far too long too figure out, the back end, making pages, installing modules, etc, so I tried XOOPS and after 3 days It felt like I had been using XOOPS forever, in the actuall task of getting content onto the website I found XOOPS far more easily to learn and more user friendly from an admin piont of view.

Also with XOOPS I found lots more modules to create certain key areas of my site: Discography(CDBase), Gallery(XCGal), articles(WFSection), News(News Module), etc, I could not find modules(or whatever there called in mambo) of such high qaulity and ease of use on mambo.

Ive been using XOOPS for a year now and although I am no expert, I am very comfortable using it and I would never change to anything else. And with all the development of XOOPS going on the future is looking very bright indeed.

Xoops Rules!

Try clearing your browser cache, and clearing templates_c folder, you should see the changes take affect then.

I noticed yesterday that my protector module logged 4 ips for DoS attack on my site, this is the first time since installing protector(since its first release) that ive ever had anything logged i.e no attacks, now im reading on here about people suffering dos attacks on thier XOOPS sites.

I had 4 ip's i used neotrace pro to trace them one was using my isp and traced back to right where I live(Scotland UK) which I thought was very strange one traced to Las Vegas, USA one to cherwell, England cant remember what the final one was.

Question is was this an attack direct on my site or just an attack on my server(shared hosting server)?

Seems a strange coincidence now that people are reporting DoS attacks on thier XOOPS sites.

Whenver i want to see a particular module in action on another XOOPS site i goto google advanced search and type modules/whatevermodule in the allinurl search. Perhaps this might also be a good way to find sites that use xoops.

Also according to alexa websearchhttp://www.alexa.com/data/details/?url=xoops.org there is 409 sites linking into xoops.org not sure if they are all made with XOOPS but i would bet the majority are.

Hi,

in Modules admin you can set NewBB module to 0 to hide it from the Main Menu, then read this XoopsFAQ HERE on adding custom links to the main menu.

Hope this helps you out.

Hi, I have also been using debaser now for a while but I've never encountered this problem.

The only thing I can think of(bearing in mind i'm not too technical)is that when you deleted real player you didnt change any file types that might have been associated with it i.e when you add a new filetype, wma, mp3, etc you select a default player associated with the filetype, so now these files are still trying to play in real player which doesnt exist.

The only other thing is that the code for the player has been corrupt somehow but I'm not too sure how you would go about fixing that.

Sorry I cant be of anymore help, hope you get it fixed soon.
