Thanks for the link. I had a look and what you've done with the point system looks good, but I don't see any info on how to implement it.

I'd basically be happy with one set of points which moderators and/or a specific group can modify.

I'm kind of stuck at this point on how to even display a value from the database in a thread - where's the documentation on that?

Thanks,

Ok, I give up.

I am finding smarty templates way too confusing compared to the old code that I wrote the karma system for. I have "Karma:" showing up with the other user information to the left side of their posts (under Number of Posts, Location, etc.), and I have a DB field called "karma" with the karma values in it.

I went through the code and tried to follow along with the "user_posts" variable (in viewtopic.php), but I can't get the value of the karma field in the DB to show up.

Can someone point out, or point me to somewhere where it is pointed out, the flow/process of how a value is taken from a DB field and put into a variable for display by viewtopic.php?

Any help appreciated - this has me scratching my head...

I wrote one that worked on an older version of Xoops, and am working on porting it to 2.0.6. I'll post here with more details when I have it working.

That was my only guess, and I didn't even think of that until a couple of hours after I made my post. I'm such an idiot... sorry.

In my Who's Online block I see a user 'xxx' who logged on 1 hour 38 minutes ago. I didn't recognize the user, so I checked the user table for that user name - it did not exist. I noted the uid from the browser status bar when I did a mouseover of the username in the Who's Online list - 1104. Again, I checked the user table and found no record for uid 1104 - all the numbers were fine, 1102, 1103, 1105, 1106... 1104 was missing...

Any ideas on how this user is able to exist and login, and what I can do to find out about it?

Thanks,

System Avatars ... POOF!

Ok, not sure what I've done here, but I've lost my list of System Avatars.

The files themselves are still in place, but in the Avatar manager I have "System Avatars (0 images)" and when I click "List" I get nothing where the list of Avatars should be. Likewise in View Account/Avatar, the listbox for Avatars has one entry - "None", and the "List" link brings up an empty window.

Where, oh where have I screwed up now?
Thanks for any help...

If you put the theme block on your site ...

Sorry to be obtuse, but how can I do that? I don't see a themes block in Blocks Administration. Is it an add-on / hack ?

Thanks - I was up late doing this and totally forgot that I could get around it by going straight to the admin panel page. I think the problem was that I had a different theme set as the "user selectable theme" than I had set to be the default theme for the board. I'm not too sure exactly, but its working for now.

Thanks for the reminder about themes and templates as well. I'm just starting to wrap my head around those concepts.

One other thing I'm still trying to figure out is... Can a user select his own theme in 2.* or not? I don't see an option for that in the Edit Account page...

Blank Page After Login

Hi,

I've just installed 2.0.5.1 (a bit of an upgrade from 1.3.8) and have been fooling around with themes/templates. In the process, I think I've got my theme and template out of sync (accidentally set a theme with a wrong template set or vice versa). Now when I log in, I get a blank page. This happens even though I'm logging in as an administrator, so I'm not able to access any of the control panel features.

I've been looking through the database with phpMyAdmin, but I'm still not sure what values should be set to what in order to reset - I was previously able to log in with the default template set and the 'phpkaox' theme. Anyone know what database values I'd have to reset to get back to that configuration?

Any help appreciated.
