Hi,

I set in theme.html a table that I want to show in the homepage. it shows one table if you are registered and another if you are not, like this:

<{if !$xoops_isuser}>
show table one
<{else}>
show table two
<{/if}>

this works pretty well, but it shows the tables on all pages, and I only want it on the homepage. Is there a way of doing something similar, but also testing if it is the homepage? something like <{if !$xoops_isuser AND THIS IS THE HOMEPAGE}>

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. unless I am missing something (v.possible) this theme (on xoops.org main page) is 3 columns, one on the left, a main content and another on the right, but I need 3 columns on the main content area, so 5 columns in total, counting the ones on the right and left...

Hi,

first, I have been away from these forums for a while. my XOOPS (future) site is a personal project & I didnt have time to develop it these last months. I have been reading the forums for a while now, and I'm glad to see the project is always going forward

now my question. For my site I would like to have 3 colums with content. That is, a 'menu' on the right, a left block and in the middle 3 colums with content. Some of the blocks there will use the 3 columns (for one news for example) while others will be split in 3 (for example one item on the left, one on the center and a right one). The themes that I saw seem to have only two columns. I may be wrong about this, since my understanding of themes is not that good...

So if anyone knows of a theme that has 3 columns please let me know. I also will be making my own theme, so if the 3 column theme I use as an example is clean and clear well...that would be an advantage

thanks

Ronhab:

I had similar problems a long time ago. I went with pair (pair.com) many years ago and I am satisfied. I think you can get much better prices in other hosts (though I havent been checking lately) and their support hasnt been very helpful at times (they do answer but sometimes the responses were not as helpful as I would have liked). However I hardly ever needed to contact support and their reliability (IMO) has been incredible. They also have (or had, havent checked lately) a limit on the number of mails a process can send, which caused me a lot of troubles when I setted up a mailing list (if sending a lot of mails is one of your needs you may want to check now the details of that).

my opinion is that there is no such thing as a perfect host, though for me and my needs, pair has been enough...

hope this helps.

Thanks destrux, I was a bit worried I was doing things wrong probably because it took me some time to figure the templates thing myself (I did everything wrong at first, sergio, the dev who managed the argentinian support site, leaded me to the right direction after my initial screw ups. BTW wonder where he is now..). I found XOOPS has many things like this IMO, they look hard at first but then you realize how powerful and actually easy they are (hard from a newbee point of view, so in a way its nice to know sometimes even experienced users feel it

Thanks, it works perfectly on that site AFAIK. Seems useful for a future project I want to do, still I dont fully get how it works on the admin side (guess you add text in both languages) but I will look at it more once I'm using it...

Its actually in your control panel. System is usually the first item on the left menu and from there you have to choose templateset from the menu that appears when you mouse over. Then choose system on the template you are using, you will see the file in that list.
