When I create a block I don't have the ability to select the view or editing promissions.

Also can I set it so that both groups have a different home page/top page.

Hi Everyone

Firstly would like to say that XOOPS is a great product.

I'm new to XOOPS so sorry if I ask very silly questions.

I'm looking for a way (Module) to be able to create different blocks for different pages for different users.

Example:

Non login uses have one page
Login user with Group 1 Access has one type of top page
And
Login user with Group 2 has a different top one page

Is this possible if so what module would do this.

I have worked out so that other users can view files that are just under the default document template folder but if I create a new folder and then set promissions then they can't view it. Also I can't work out how to let certain users create new files and folders.

Hi Guys

I have a question about how different users of different access levels of DMS (Document Management System) works.

Basically in my admin login I can view, create and upload files not a problem and then when I select options and set the group permission option and also allow the DMS module under the groups area in the admin area that group still can't view or edit the folder but the main webmaster can do both.

So I would like to know how to set the DMS so that all my users can view it which has permission?

Have figured that out and now just have to play with the settings.

For the document/file storage/management is the best module for what I would like to do:

xoops2-mod_filemanager_v3_0

If so do I install it basically the same way as proforming upgrades.

Thanks but I only have version 1.1

Where do I get the latest version from and how do I go about updating it?

Thanks everyone for answering my question.

When I log into a standard install of XOOPS I can all ways allow different options for different users but I have the following problem:

Basically I can see where you can select if a user has access to change say the news section but what I want to do is have different news section for different departments at work and is also why I was asking about different home pages.

Is this possible? If so what modules would I need to do it in the following areas?

News
File/Document Manager
Different home pages

Hi Everyone

I'm currently looking for some groupware software and would like to know if XOOPs can do the following three things:

News Manager with the ability to create news for different users. So that I can create news but certain users will not see it but then the other users can. Also with the ability to allow a few users to create news and also edit it in their news area.

Document Manager with the ability to only allow certain people to edit and view different folders in the document manager.

Different home page for different Users which can be customised to display different things.

If these are possible are they in the default install if not then what modules are they and where do I get them from?

Thanks
