Yes you are absolutely right. In no way I was trying to demise you and your module. Actually thanks to people like you and Mowaffak and others XOOPS would be none exsisting.....anyway I again did a clean install, cleared templates_c (that was the problem) and NOW is working great. Thanks for your persistancy.

One suggestion what about Custom Blocks, could they be included in the selection box for Bloacks?

Thanks a million

Sorry Trabis I have given up on this module. I have done RC4 as you said but now the admin page to edit doesnot come up.

I will wait for the final working version, hopefully it will work without any hitches. In the meantime keep up this good work as this would be a great asset to Xoops

Hi Travis its working fine now and I am getting the hang of it. Thanks

I only seem to have one problem. The content box is not showing any blocks.
I have created the Tabs -- work fine
and then in tehe Create a new Block I selected a block and assigned it to one of the Tabs and hit Go.
It come up in the Admin Page that I have created this new block but it will not show in teh home page in the Tabs Block (only the Tabs show being rotated but not teh content of the block that I have added)

Thanks I have tried it as I use Smartsection a lot.
A good improvement all around.....have not found any bugs yet???!!!!

The only thing that I was expecting from this release is the fact that Smartsection seems to slow down when one starta adding articles (or files) in the database. If you have around 300 to 1000 articles, even going from one page navigation to another can take ages. I went round this by deleting these articles from teh database.Would it be helpful if there would be a kind of archive date like the News module or say an expiry date where the article will disappear after a date set.

The introduction of a feature in the Recent List block where now you could select more than one category is a blessing.

Thanks for everyone who worked hard on this release

flash slideshow - a module for the xml file

I am using a particular flash slideshow which I embedded in a block. As most of you know there is a file normally and .xml file where you insert the copy, the url links, teh images etc. Then you upload this file along with the images through an ftp and onto your server.

My question is this: Is it possible to design a module where you can do the following:
1) Field Box where to put the caption of that particular image
2) Field Box where to put a link to that image so it will go and read that article indicated
and finally...
3)Field Box where you can browse for your image and upload it

The above is for only 1 Photo it needs to have a sort of Addon button so you can put say 8 or 10 to have your slideshow 10 images

Any idea how to build this type of module??

Thanks in advance

On the contrary Shiva because IT WAS SO GOOD this hack that people sre using it without any hitches. Normally when there is a problem in XOOPS you get a lot of people posting until it gets right. You know what they say NO NEWS is GOOD NEWS.
One last thing it would be REALLY NICE to have the originators of this News Module (Instant Zero!!!!) to incorporate this in the next version of News.

Thanks Shiva for doing this done worry there are some who appreciate those coders that are doing a lot in Xoops.

Sorry NovaSmart, I know that your AMS module is very good but I rather stick to the News Hack because it carries that much needed Headline photo and thumbnail which I do not see that in your module.

Plese Shiva when you have some time, as requested before, could you hack the News Block 'Recent News' to have also thumbnails, ( similar to the Smartsection Spotlight block)?

Thanks
