Hi Karen,

Could you please tun on the debug mode and post here any error message. (expand the sql qery)

It looks like you have "SQL error" something to do with your table default value.

or

PHP version issue

Also post your environment details like XAMP, forum module version & xoops version.

Good Luck

btesec,

I am testing oranagehrm for an intranet site (as a stand alone installation). It will be really great if xoops can integrate OrangeHRM and timesheet package.

i dont know how to convert a package to xoops module. so I have to wait for this.

Do you know if v1.23 will work on xoop 2.4.4. or it will need lot of modification?

Re: theme first, then modules?

Yes, I agree with Burning.

Thought all module works with all themes, the dislplay location (or / blocks) may change ( example the menu could be a drop-down from top in one theme where as it could be static on the other theme). So you may have to do little customisation.

Customising theme can be very time consuming. So first concentrate with the module/functionality that you need on your web page and make them work with default theme.

Re: a little advice please, and then some help-theme & module ***not on the newb ladder yet***

Hi,

I can understand your position. I started my 1st community site with XOOPS without any prior knowledge of XOOPS ( or any CMS) it took almost 3 months for the 1st hosting. The most difficult part was selecting the modules and theme. There are plenty of choice to choose from.

However It's very difficult to suggest the themes as it's purely personal choice. Also some of them are free where as some of them are paid.

For choosing module, I considered few things which I can share:

1. Check if you can install and test them in your local environment just to ensure it works for you.
2. Check it's compatiable with latest XOOPS core (Xoops 2.4.4)
3. Check the last release date of the module ( avoid un supported module). Sometime the latest release are not on the XOOPS repository but on some other site .(I know it's a pain to find)

I would suggest to begin, pick up a simple theme and all the required module and host it. Let it run for few days/weeks. once fully operational try to work on themes. if you dont know css, html,PHP, customising themes are most time consuming task

It's not fair to compare the modules, but after some research I finally settled for the following :

XcGallery 2.0.4 - Gallery
Video Tube 1.8.4 - Videos
WebLink 0.93 - Links
CBB 3.0.8 - Forum ( the latest one is v4 now)
AMS 2.51 - Article ( the latest one is v3 now)

You can check my site www.AquariumHomeCare.com.
It's running on LAMP with XOOPS 2.3.1 from last 1.5 year without any trouble.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck

Deepak

Re: Where can i download latest version of Xoops stats

Hi Hasan,

I am not which module can give the block as webstat & Membership block. I would like to have that block too.

if you are just looking for a single line info just like in my site, you can get it by adding "Xoops Visit v1.0" (of if you can find a newer version).

Thanks Ghia,
on debug mode, I am getting the following error:

Notice: Use of undefined constant _MI_EXTGAL_B_SUB - assumed '_MI_EXTGAL_B_SUB' in file /modules/extgallery/xoops_version.php line 481

Unknown: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in file /modules/extgallery/class/ExtgalleryPersistableObjectHandler.php line 78

Thanks in advance.

Deepak
