I log into Xoops, click on a module, and it says I'm not logged in.

I log in again, it takes me to the module, I click on Admin Menu.. it says I'm not logged in.

I log in again, it takes me into the admin module.

At this point, I can go back to modules, and back into Admin no problem..

But Why do I have to log in 3 different times ?

Users come to the website, log in.. click a link to visit content, and it says they aren't logged in... this confuses them and they leave.. how do I fix this ?

I would like to change the formatting in the Articles module.. in lastest articles and most popular article blocks.. so that the story headline is bold and large.

inside the admin screen, I opend the block, changed it.. got it to work using the view block, but i can't find a save button.

I went into the module folder, found the .html file and changed it also.. but it still doesn't change the appearance on the website.

Lastly.. I deleted the module. Changed the html file on the install package.. reinstalled the module.. and it still doesn't work.

I did not use any hacks.. all straight modules.

I backed up both the sql database and a copy of the site.

I had upgraded to 2.2.. I'm back on 2.0.9.2

What I mean by screwing up my website..

I had all my websites on individual servers with indivdual accounts.

I decided to consolidate them all onto one account.. when I did that, I had to give each domain a unique adminstrator name, since I couldn't use the same name on each account on the same server.

Since the XOOPS database names its dbs based on the administrators name, XOOPS couldn't see them anymore and they no longer worked.

I had to uninstall XOOPS and then reinstall.. when I did that, it wiped out my website.

I didn't have time to try to find a fix, so I just started building all over.. which I have done.

But I'd like to get back some of the archives of stuff I can't recreate..

Bender.. I thought about doing that, but a couple of attempts at that failed and I couldn't keep the site down any longer.. so we went with a Plan B.

Since I'm committed to Plan B, I need help now getting that to work, if possible.

J --

Thanks for the link...

Hey, wanted to say I really like the layout of your website !! Its fresh and super clean..

How do you make the "hide right column" thing happen ?

Do you have that layout available as a theme ?

Thanks,

Patrick

John,

I do have myphpadmin on my server.

An update since my original post:

I screwed up my XOOPS website trying to upgrade to upgrade to 2.2 While attempting a recovery my webserver company crashed and burned and I've had to completely start over.

That being said, I had created a back up of my SQL database shortly before the fall.

I would like to recover 3 things from this database:

1.) My user/passwords list
2.) Past articles written
3.) Forum History

I would think recovering the username/password file would be the easiest since I didn't make any changes to the format or structure of them.

The old articles were written using the "news" module, which I have jetison in the rebuild instead going with "article" module. I also have changed the catogory descriptions, so I'm assuming this isn't going to be an easy recovery... any ideas ?

Lastly.. the forum (while still the default XOOPS newbb) I've completely changed the forum names... any chance of recovery here ?

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated !

Patrick
