URGENT!! Xoops Backup & Restore Newbb2

I tried updating newbb to newbb2 then decided to go back. I'd made a backup of both the sql database and php before i did anything.

When I tried to restore the sql databases using the backups everything seemed to work very smoothly, occassionally it asked me to drop a table before restoring.

All worked well but..
when it came to xoops_bb_posts_text i got this...

Quote:
Processing file: bkp0604041701_xoops_bb_posts_text.gz

Starting at the line: 1

Error at the line 14: );

Query: CREATE TABLE xoops_bb_posts_text ( post_id int(8) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment, post_text text, PRIMARY KEY (post_id), KEY search (post_text) );

MySQL: BLOB/TEXT column 'post_text' used in key specification without a key length

Stopped on error

Start from the beginning (DROP the old tables before restarting)

I dropped the table but even once done it still shows the same message when rerun.

Any ideas folks I urgently need a fix?

thanks

Andrew

Hi all,

Just upgraded from newbb1 to newbb2 (xoops 2.0.4 or something since they took the version number off the admin page i keep forgetting where to look for the version)

Everything appears to have gone smoothly except that no forums blocks show anywhere when I click the link to newbb/admin/myblocksadmin.php nothing happens just a white page. Can someone shed some light as to how i get forum blocks back?

Also thinking ahead now that I'm using newbb2 when and XOOPS update appears should i delete the newbb folder that may be included before updating?

thanks

Andrew

Migrate Xoops & SQL Problems

I've been trying to move my XOOPS site from one server to another.

I've followed the advice posted in the faq but it's not working for me.

Currently I have a blank page like this
http://domain960649.sites.fasthosts.com/

Absolutely nothing is on the page but all the XOOPS files are uploaded, a new (and empty) sql database has been created and mainfile.php has be pointed to it. Clearly the site is there because if i try linking straight into the module it tells me i don't have access permissions.

The database is fine because I can access it via MySQL administrator software.

The problem is:-

I can't see my site, so i can't login, so i can't get to the myphpadmin module which would allow me to restore the backup previously taken. This could be because there is no data in the db or it could be another problem entirely. Should I be seeing my site if it is linked to an empty db?

thanks for your help

Andrew

does anyone have a step-by-step guide to do this - i wonder if for example i have to add back the install.php file to reconnect the db at a new server.

Thanks

I have two problems with my site which need fixing.

I need your help.

1) MyAlbum-p module is in some views showing multiple versions of the same image while the admin backend only shows one version. For example:-

http://www.colournation.com/modules/myalbum/viewcat.php?cid=15

2) Forums module - won't show the links to other pages of discussion. For example this page shows me only the link to current page (1) when there are many pages of discussion.
http://www.colournation.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=3&forum=3&post_id=1649#forumpost1649

any ideas? I can pay for support on this if required.

reply here or email fix_a.t_colournation.com

thanks

Andrew
