Guys, have you noticed this:

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/

VS.

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb

In the first case one receives a blank plage and in the second the forums are loaded.

I suppose the same goes for every XOOPS2 site depending on whether XOOPS Virtual Path is set with "www" or without.

For example if your XOOPS Virtual Path ishttp://myXoopsSite.com

then when directly typing into a browserhttp://www.myXoopsSite.com/modules/somemodule/ will result into a blank page...

I know it is illegal.

Hacking is illegal too. But still there are people who would do it.

[red]I'm simply pointing[/red] at a... hmmm.. how should I put it? It could become a security hole depending on what php codes one puts in the theme.html

Besides, I suppose there are people who woudn't like anybody seeing theme.html

I don't if somebody has already thought of this but... taking a peek into the theme.html is quite easy.

Load any XOOPS2 site, view the source and look in the head part for something like:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="http://url_of_xoops_site/themes/the_theme_of_the_site/style.css" />

Then just type in the browserhttp://url_of_xoops_site/themes/the_theme_of_the_site/theme.html and voila!

Anyway, any able designer can recreate a theme of a site even without looking at theme.html

BUT

What if in the theme.html you have:

<{php}>
some top secret php code... if it is serverside it should stay serversidedon't you think?
<{/php}>

So don't put php in the theme.html

Or I suppose you could protect the_theme_of_the_site with a simple .htaccess file...

I need somehow to improve loading times. The idea is that the content (news or whatever texts there are on the page) should be loaded and dipslayed first and the pictures should start (down)loading after that. Right now, I have to wait for all the pics, js, css to be downloaded from the server before whatever is displayed in the browser.

Besides I have too much pictures on the site and I've been told that removing some of those is out of the question... Beleive me, this really sux...

Let's say I have a homepage with news and lots of pictures. What I need is somehow to load first the texts (news). Then, after the news are loaded and the text is visualised the pictures should start loading.

As far as I can gather there is some solution with javascript... but the names of the images should be known. In my case I only know the directory in which they reside (uploads :).

Does anybody have any idea how to load the images later?

The admin is still there:

http://d481049.u33.surftown.se/admin.php

You should check:

1. mainfile.php - maybe you've left there some occurences of the old URL, old pass and so on

2. templates_c should be writeable by the server

3. maybe you haven't uploaded the theme that you were using on the previous server

Can't remove a member of the webmasters group.

After hitting remowe I'm redirected to modules/system/admin.php and receive a blank page.

I'm running XOOPS 2.0.6

Anybody had the same problem?
