Thanks. :) I've had it in my head for a while that I wanted to make the site simple looking, and keep out all of the graphics if at all possible.

I'm still running 1.3 actually, so if it's in a later version I haven't run into it yet. I tried upgrading it but things went bizare, so I went back to 1.3. I may try upgrading it again though...maybe then I'll see the bug.

I am having an odd problem with firefox though. When I view the movie reviews or even the spotlight block on the front page, it won't show any information from the database. I have to have it cached to show it up...but then I have to dump the cache itself when it expires for it show up again. It's a bit odd and annoying. If I leave the cache off, IE renders everything fine, but Firefox renders nothing. Guess I'll have something else to look into tomorrow as well.

Yeah, if you don't need to delete them (ie. if space isn't a concern), then I'd say to keep it. Personally, I'm weird about deleting things like that. My message boards never get cleared out, my articles, news, etc...always stays. If I do happen to need to remove something, I always back it up, just in case.

So, I finally got around to redoing BadMovieReview.com. It includes a hacked up, chopped up, and mangled version of the soapbox templates (as well as a couple simple changes in the php files)...I decided to change some things

...so if the site dies and the Internet crashes you'll know why.

Anyway, here it is. Instead of going for lots of graphics and things, I decided to simplify it. Quicker load times and things, ya know...

I ended up doing that actually (phpmyadmin area), but I wasn't sure if that is what had fixed it or not. That same day is when I first ran across Protector. I plan on putting it on my XOOPS sites.

"Don't access this site too continuously."

I just spent about 12 hours trying to get my site straight, upgraded with newbb2 Final, XOOPS 2.0.9, upgraded myalbum to the latester version, redid my whole them...then found out that there was a new version of Xoops. So, I upgraded. And got locked out of my site. I don't know if it was Antidos that did it or what.

So I looked around the forum. My ip wasn't being blocked in the database, so I proceeded to freak out and have flashbacks of Nam, even though I'm not old enough to have been in it. Also, my theory that machines are out to get me was once again becoming apparent.

Anyway, I'm not sure how I got back in. I started going backwards again (putting the old files back). However, I also cleared my cache and templates_c files too, so I don't know what actually fixed it. Any ideas why something like this would happen? Just in case it happens again...

apparently i sit too close to the microwave or something, because i didn't think to make sure i was changing the right tag...which i thought i was, but apparently wasn't. so...problem solved.

I can't get the newbb2 colors to change. I have changed the colors in the css of the theme, made a whole new class for them, deleted the css file, updated the forum, cleared the template_c folder and the cache folder...nothing seems to be working. It just keeps sticking the same blue default color.

I've decided to do mine outside of XOOPS since this looks like it's not going to happen. Plus, it will be a good way to teach myself php. Maybe I'll be able to reconvert it into a module version.....and maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt lol

Just the warning to the rest of the internet: I'm attempting to do a php site. If your server explodes suddenly, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it.

Still, it would be nice to see this as a module one day. I'll probably be using XOOPS for my next music site though (music label).
