You are correct, you do not need the opening and closing php tags. The only thing I can think of is make sure the drop down box to select the kind of block it is has php selected.

I am one too. As much as it pains me (I have too much invested in XOOPS) my next project will not be in XOOPS.

You do not have the <{$xoops_contents}> tag in there. That is an obvious problem. It needs to go in there somewhere either before or after the center column blocks (depending on where you want the blocks to display. The xoops_contents displays the contents of your modules. Try that and see it it doesn't fix it. If it doesn't, PM me and I will get you to zip your theme and email it to me.

sounds like you need to activate some of the plugins for the module. In the admin area, there is a place that has all of the plugins listed and a place to activate them is you have the module installed (If you have WF-downloads installed, you have the option to activate that plugin). I would try that first.

You have done everything right. The only thing you have left to do is to give "anonymous" users permission to see the block.

By default, when you make a custom block, the "webmaster" and "registered user" groups have permission to view the new block, the "anonymous user" group does not.

To set the permission, in the admin area, mouse over the system icon and click on "groups". "Modify" the anonymous group and check the box corresponding to the new custom block you made. This turns on the permissions.

Hope this helps. Stefan88 was right, just thought I would explain it in a little more detail if you found it confusing.

Is anyone having trouble with this? I have this running on 6 sites and it works on 3 and doesn't on 3. The problem I am having is that it does not accept the first input of the captcha form the first time ... ever. It eventually works on the 2nd ot 3rd try. 3 of my sites it works beautifully.

Any thoughts.

I'll throw in a plug for the instant zero module. I am using it (with a few customizations) on a new site I am doing. It works great and is easy to manipulate. I am selling books and services.

I would be happy to test it. A couple of weeks ago I offered a hack to theme admin. I had a customer not impressed with XOOPS not because of functionality, but because it was ugly. I had to re-theme it to sell it to him. (I knew it was what he needed, I just had to convince him of that)

The hack is still available at my site in the downloads section

If you would like to customize it more than that, get the multimenu module and make whatever menus you want.
