4th year hosting company - Cpanel - Xoops Auto Install feature

Our friends at TechProNow.com who host our website:http://www.slu2.com are a great provider of XOOPS hosting! They give 1 year of free web hosting for every 2 clients that are referred (and who sign up).

Because of that plan, we don't pay for our hosting at all.
We just keep referring people!

Check them out at:http://www.techpronow.com

Great plans that start at $4.95 per month, and no worries about these guys going out of business like other start up companies.
These guys are in it for life!

Please tell them that www.SLU2.com sent you!

Re: Open Realty & XOOPS integration

I am using the REALTY module, and I would like to drop the "Auto Center" section. Is this possible?

I know that the base v. of Open Realty does not come with this additional feature.

I have tried to remove the tables and comment out the areas for the auto center in the code myself, but I have been unsuccessful.

I am not totally lazy and Im sure that if I gave it enough time I could figure this out. But is there a real quick fix for this, or a module that is available without the Auto Center feature?

Thanks!

Which mail module do you use?

Can you advise me on what you consider the best mail module is?

What email module do you use (if any), and what are the best features in your opinion?

I have tried both WebMailFX, and Tropical Mail. I highly prefer the scalability of WebmailFX, but Im not happy with the security risks in using it. I have found a few bugs too.

I think Tropical Mail would be awesome if it had automatic account creation.

I haven't tried sqMail, but if anyone else has, please give me feedback.

Thanks!

Re: WebMailFX new project?

Thanks! I didn't know that the same developer was working on both. They are two very different modules.

I have been working with Tropical Mail, but it's not useful to me without auto account creation, and some of the other goodies that WebMailFX has.

I will see if I can lend any assistance, thanks for the info!

WebMailFX new project?

Last year there was mention of a new WebMailFX project. Has anything progressed with that project since?

http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/forum/forum.php?forum_id=991

I really like the original project, but there are some major security risks with register_globals and such, as well as problems with SMTP ports.

Im not much of a programmer, but I would like to help a project in anyway that I can.

Donations? Project testing?

What can I do?

Re: php mail() problem

Is no one but me using this module?

Does anyone have a better suggestion for a mail module?

Thanks!

Re: SSL??

I tried the method above, and it didn't work for me.

It's likely that I didn't follow the instructions correctly. It was a little hard to ready for me.

In XOOPS 2.2.4, do I edit both class/template.php AND class/theme.php?

Or just class/theme.php?

Does anyone have any more comprehensive instructions for nubies?

Thanks!

Re: php mail() problem

If it helps, I forgot to mention that I have register globals turned off.

Re: php mail() problem

I realize that this project has tappered off a bit, and I just hope that someone else has found a resolution to my problem.

I am using Cpanel/RHE4 on my server, and XOOPS 2.2.4 on my site. I have tried SMTP/Same As Pop/PHP sendmail but nothing works.

Let me explain. I have set the WebMailFX settings up correctly, because when a user joins, they can get an email setup, and it shows up in Cpanel.

I can send them a test mail, and it does show up in their box. But when I click on the mail to retreive it, I get:
"Error: Invalid Parameter"

So I pop into webmail, and sure enough the email is there, and it arrives as it was sent.
I just can not view it in this module via Xoops.

Thats the first problem.
Here is the second:

When I send an email, I get an error when using either type of SMTP as the setting in the module preferences (either SMTP, or SAME AS POP), I get this.

Errorcould not determine the SMTP to connect

When I send it via PHP sendmail, I get a message saying "message sent", but I get a kick back in my box that says.

A message that you sent contained no recipient addresses, and therefore no delivery could be attempted.

This happens no matter who I send an email to.

I tried uninstalling, removing the files from the server, then reuploading, chmoding the attachments (and subfolders) to 777, and then installing again, updating the system module, etc..

I've tried just about everything that I can think of. Am I missing something?

Thanks!

(BTW- On debug mode, everythign seems to pass according to the users settings)
