Thanks for offering help herko, unfortunately that didn't work. Without fail, the page pulls up the www page and immediately after signing in redirects to non www!!! This is so GD frustrating!!

I am right there with you, while I have no firewall, if I just click on home, everything works fine. And my users can do the same thing....PLEASE HELP!

yeah - I have tried it with and without the www in the addy and it still happens. it seems that no matter what, when you visit my xoops/html/index.php the url always changes to the www version. then, after logging in, it changes to the non www version. I know that is where the problem is coming from, but, I don't know what to modify to fix it!

Why does my login page ?redirect? the url from a www.mysite.com address to a non www. address? It is causing a lot of problems with http referer problems...anyone out there have any ideas?

I am runnning an XP MCE 2005 edition PC, I do have antivirus software,but,I currently have no firewall at all....what is causing this problem.....

Well m0nty, I guess there is a first time for everything. This is the first time I've requested help on XOOPS and had a jerk respond.

I was asking a question that has obviously never been completely answered...that obviously several have had questions about, and that there is no real fix for. As a webmaster I know that asking the average user to modify their firewall settings is going to make my site less likely to get visited.

It seems a fundamental flaw that visiting www.mysite.com vs. mysite.com makes any difference at all. I have tried with no firewall whatsoever, and still had nagging issues. So thanks but no thanks m0nty.

Stuie, thanks for the help, I am going to modify my (why am I here page) to something more resembling your page so that my visitiors will have a better explanation of what's going on.

OK - I have torn apart these forums looking for answers. Some suggested doing what the error message recommended and turn off firewall protection...are you kidding me? That is a ridiculous notion. My users and I use firewalls for a reason...there is no way I can expect them to turn them off to visit my site. The next question is what is my site doing that they need their firewalls off for?

I have seen a couple of threads offering different options, and for the time being I have turned referer check off. I am not a programmer, for all I know I am leaving my site vulnerable....posting it on here could leave me open to some attack I don't know about. It could cause operation problems, and module malfunction...I don't know. But there has got to bea fix, a 'xoops approved' solution.

Somebody, somwhere, please help me and the other patient XOOPS users with this issue. (the prof, fruityb, allnewtome, and the others that have persisted with posting about this problem). I am getting frustrated and I can only imagine how many webmasters are just as irritated. In addition, I will lose membership over an error message like that. As you know, ease of use will keep people coming back....if they start having problems, they'll just go somewhere else.

Another question for PHATBLOKE....when people log into your website, does that login carry over to coppermine when they follow the link (I assume the 2 are bridged)? The reason I ask is the prety much leave xoops, right?

OK - I see where you are going, I would still like to get the custom block working, but that's a good start. I was kind of hoping for more integration than the built in bridging offers. Anyone know what bridging does other than 'merge' user databases?

I got the main menu link working...that wasn't a biggie and it h elped me learn about using the templates better. My next question is, I have visited your site and your gallery seems to be almost completely integrated, or skinned, how the hell did you do that? That's what I'm really looking for. I understand it may be a lot to ask but what you have done is exactly what I'm trying to accomplish, but I haven't found instructions or forums on how to do that yet....thanks!

I also tried your custom block, but with no success. Coppermine is installed in root, folder name cpg142. cpmfetch is installed under xoops/cpmfetch...and here are the error messages I get
