Hello. I would like to build a membership directory for my members, as well as import over 1,000 members into the new XOOPS site I am building. Can I easily add new fields into the user table without messing anything up? Ideally I would like to have all my membership information in one place, as well as be able to use it when creating a membership search.

Also, is there documentation availble so I know exactly how the groups/users are tied in together?

Thanks.

Thanks for the tip, but I am still struggling with this concept. Ideally, I would like to have part of the site accessible to the public, then when they log in, they will go to a member's only index page which would have content that only members can see.

Right now, I am using Content 0.5 for my static content, which might be my problem because I cannot set up individual pages to be "read only by a certain group". A more basic question perhaps is how do I define a members's top page? (A page like the index page of a XOOPS site, but that is available only to those that log in? ) I am sure I am thinking too much about this, so I would appreciate any thoughts.

Hello. I am trying to build a web site that offers both a public area with a public main menu, and then when the user logs in, they will go to a members' "top page" with has a new main menu with member only information. This seems to be an easy question, but I am stuck....how do I implement this? I am using XOOPS 2.0.x.
Thanks in advance.

Hello. I just did a clean install the most recent of XOOPS 2.0.x. I then decided to upgrade News to 1.4. When I ran the suggested upgrade script mentioned:https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2510 I received the following errors:

Warning: Unknown(/home/site/public_html/modules/news/admin/upgrade.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown(/home/site/public_html/modules/news/admin/upgrade.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0

Warning: (null)(): Failed opening '/home/site/public_html/modules/news/admin/upgrade.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0

Any help would be appreciated.

Problem is, I am not caching headlines. Any other thoughts why I can only get 1 rss feed to show up?

Ever since updating to XOOPS 2.2 I get the following error when trying to add a feed to Headlines:

Failed saving data to database for headline example.com
Array

Anyone else having the same problem?
