Ok so during installation i read in the READ ME or INSTALLATION html that i need to take
xoops_lib
and
xoop_data
and move them OUT of the ROOT folder.
Ok so i did that and continued installation
then it tells me the two folders are missing

The installer is looking for the folders in the default location, but since you moved the folders; you must now point the installer to the location the folders were moved to by editing the paths statement.

I wish I could critique this latest tutorial but I'm afraid I am still working on the previous tutorials. I'm just glad you are continuing your effort to educate some of us uninformed XOOPSers with your excellent tutorials. I did find the tutorial itself to be easily understood.

Check out Stanley Steemer's No Obligation Quote This little jewel of code can deliver a complicated quote in real time based on the customer's selections and his zip code (for tax purposes). All the customer has to do is point and click.

I believe this was accomplished using Jquery on ASP--of course, I could be wrong. I would love to be able to do something similar for my brother's carpet cleaning website.

You will need the slide show hack to change the pics automatically. GIJOE of Peak XOOPS is the authority on myAlbum-p and here is a forum topic from his website discussing exactly what you need.

I didn't attempt this hack because I couldn't quite understand the installation instructions. If you implement this hack successfully, perhaps you could post here with some clear instructions for the rest of us.

I use myAlbum-p and cbb. When I installed myAlbum-p, I didn't create thumbnails for all my pics and myAlbum was displaying thumbnails but at the byte size of the original pics which slowed things considerably. After I created thumbnails at a much smaller byte size, bandwidth usage decreased and the gallery loaded a lot faster.

I dont have alot of modules installed or anything, and the only thing i can think that may be slowing it down is i have "check template for modifications" enabled.

Anytime you have that option selected, you should turn your site off as that is only used when you are editing your templates and seeing the results "on the fly." If you aren't editing your templates, deselect "check template for modifications" as enabling this option will impact the performance of your site.

This is the WIKI List that everyone is working on regarding modules compatible with 2.3.x.
