In the description of AMS 2.51 features it lists importation of content from any version of the news module. Where is this script, I am looking to test it for my own site.

Replying to mark this as solved, thanks again trabis.

For now I have disabled piCal form the search via xoops_version.php

I am going to move to eXtcal.

Maybe a quick fix would be to leave the calendar module out of the search (see xoops_version.php).

That could work as a temporary fix. I think I will try that out tonight.

After doing some research I think I am going to move off of Pical and use eXtcal. More features and works with 2.3.3 out the box. I just need to work on a conversion script for it.

Shouldn't be too bad.

Problem was piCal, It was breaking search.php and profile module when 'show user last activities' was enable.

I disable the module and it is working fine. I also notice you install piCal very recently, did you have piCal installed when you upgraded your site?

Man, awesome, well now I know, but a solution might be an issue. The calendar is mission critical. Not sure why it is showing as newly installed/upgraded. Anyway it is our gig calendar, for this local music site. So my only choices are to repair the module, or find a replacement module that I can convert the data over to.

I don't mind getting dirty in code, heck I have pretty much edited every file in the addresses module and I have the Faq module to repair as well. Of course those changes are more php 5 related to anything else.

Anyway if you can point me to what I need to do that is appreciated. Where does search.php break?

Addresses module, seems to be working, however I had to change a lot of the code to remove HTTP_GET_VARS and HTTP_POST_VARS with _GET and _POST, respectively, but that has more to do with running PHP 5 vs XOOPS 2.3.3. Also in the admin with debug mode on I get an error, more of a warning really, because as of right now it is still calling XoopsTree instead of XoopsObjectTree. Anyway I am running it in a production site with no FUNCTIONAL problems right now.

OK here is what I have so far.

As an admin, I cannot see my own profile, viewing permissions are for the most part wide open.

Some users I can see some I can't.

Here is what I think, there was a problem when I started, I did not upgrade profile first, before I started messing around. That much I have figured out. I also did not have security set up right for the profile. However that is corrected now, so I think somewhere in the system it is locking the cache of the problem profiles. But where, I have cleared out the following trying to fix this.

xoops_data/caches/xoops_cache
xoops_data/caches/smarty_cache
xoops_data/caches/smarty_compile

cache/
templates_c/

That being said there are some profiles I have tried that I know I never looked at and don't work.

Many do, many don't. I can find no rhyme or reason for it.

Look I got a test account area, my gut tells me this is a system configuration based problem. I can give you just about any access you need if you can take a look at this, but I am really stuck. The DB looks fine, the code looks fine.

Any takers, please I am stuck!

My post about blank profiles for certain users and not others makes me think our problems are similar. You know what stands out to me as something we have in common, despite me coming from 2.0.15 and you from 2.2.4 we both went to UTF-8 on our DB. I think that might have something to do with it. Just a hunch, but the best I can come up with. Incidentally, I am running php5.2 and MySQL 5 on my server.

Since you are in the mood it seems to do test installs, maybe one of us could try an upgrade and not use UTF-8.

When I didn't use UTF-8 in my tests all apostrophe's came out as funky characters. Hence why I went that direction. Shame on me in those early testing phases I never specifically tested the profile, however I don't recall any odd blank pages at the time.

Additional information:

I have found that clicking on a newer user in the Who's Online block actually works?

Yes trying to access my own profile, as admin or otherwise, or existing users who are a bit older does not work. And honestly the user account I was able to try this on wasn't that new. The same links are being used.

I am wondering if maybe there was a data conversion problem going to Profile 1.51.

The version of XOOPS I upgraded from to 2.3.3 was 2.0.15 and the site started on XOOPS at version 2.0.13
