hmmm... yes but I would like it all plush with the XOOPS system, and when users are registered they automatically go onto the list etc...

I think what i'll do is try and edit the TOS to say "By registering you are signing up to the newsletter" and then make user_mailok to be yes (dunno how yet...) and then give them the option to turn it off in their profile.

Is there a newsletter module for 2.2x?

I tried evennews but when I try to import users it says it can't because they have no addresses. I suspect this is something to do with the change in database tables.

Any other module that could help?

Hi there, yes i saw that one, and wish i could use it. The content module seems to be good, but it didn't work, as in the comments on that file, I wrote: I try to add content and it says "error while updating database"

However, it looks like cjay content is well loved (at aprox 8000) downloads so i will give that a try in a few hours.

I'm still faced with the problem of the "Formula too long" message that comes up for most of the cells due to each line.

I can't do it in a text edior because i loose the "\n" in the sql code. That will mess things up for imoprting it back into mySQL.

I tried ConTEXT but it doesnt seem to support wildcards.

it gets even more tricky because i want to keep the text that is after the [i:1234567] thing, so to replace [i:* would be to loose all that text

thanks but I already tried with with excel, any post that wasn't short brought up the error "formula is too long", and that was most of the posts, so that idea worked but ms has some stupid limit on it.

OK, I know this is probably really simple but if anyone knows mySQL, please help!

I've converted my forum from ipb->phpbb->cbb and have ended up with alot of code within the posts. Save editing this manually, I want to run a query that will fix it.

The posts look something like this:
...as something for [i:174155571e]our[/i:174155571e] benifit. when infact it's the other way around. we need to...

But the number is always different. So is the text surrounding it!

Can anyone show me the query to use?

PHP version 4.3.10
MySQL version 4.0.24-standard
XOOPS Version 2.2.3

Setup would stall in 1 of two places:

1. After entering setting up the admin uname and pw
or
2. After setup is complete, logging in for the first time

Anything else needed?

(P.s - I just tried an install of 2.0.13.1 which worked fine, then just upgraded, but this still should be figued out.)
