Thanks...I got it working.
So, Now I have the top-5 news stories coming up in the 'center'. I have 1 more related questions:

I wanted 2 modules to show up in the center: 'News' & 'Forum'
Right now, I have only 1; I wanted my site to have a look & feel of the Home page of this 'Community' site: notice , how it has a 'Welcome to Xoops' block followed by a 'Latest XOOPS News' block.
How do I get the same look & feel.

Thanks in advance.

S.

Hello:

I installed XOOPS today & I am extremely happy with my progress.

I added the 'News' module & added a couple of news items.
I also admined the 'blocks', so that the 'Main Menu' ( it holds the 'News' menu) shows up at the center (as opposed to left or right)

I have a (I think) simple question:

At present, my users have to click on the 'News' hyperlink to see the news stories. what can I do to show the News stories on the front page without having to click on the 'News' link ?

Thanks in advance.

S.
