I've been trying to update my forum and I've come across a problem with the display of the images in the pages. No images- such as the new topic icons, or the post reply images, or anything like that are showing up. I some cases, the links appear to be broken.

For instance, I did a view source to look at some stray characters I was getting at the bottom of the page, around the search box. This is what one row looked like:

Quote:

<tr>
<td valign="middle"><img src="<img src="http://beyondrealitylarp.com/modules/newbb/images/imagesets/default/folder_new_big-a.gif" style="width: 18px; height:12px; margin: 0px;" alt="" align="middle" />" alt="" /> = <br /><img src="<img src="http://beyondrealitylarp.com/modules/newbb/images/imagesets/default/folder_big-a.gif" style="width: 18px; height:12px; margin: 0px;" alt="" align="middle" />" alt="" /> = <br /> <img src="" alt="" /> = </td>

As you can see, things like that first image link aren't going to display correctly. I've followed all the steps that came with the readme in the zip file. I ran the upgrade script, modified the main.php file (I'm running XOOPS 2.0.7.3), updated all the templates, etc. Since these are brand new template files from the source, I can't really see where the problem could be.

Also, on the index page, none of the subforums are appearing- just the categories. I tried various options for the forums and preferences (including changing the index option from "collapsed" to "expanded"), but nothing helped. I also made sure that everything was viewable by all groups.

Has anyone had any problems like this, or can they offer any suggestions? TIA!

I also had some issues with this when my site went online over the summer. I had trouble getting the users in question to figure out what to do with Norton- I think they got it preinstalled on their computer with the defaults, and didn't even know which version it was. And the instructions seem to change a lot between versions.

This is more of a firewall question than a XOOPS question, but is there any way to run a test to determine whether or not someone is using Norton? I know there's ways to detect browser, OS, that sort of thing, but I don't know about firewall. It occured to me that, if we could find a way to test for what the user's running, then we could just include an if... statement that will disable the checks only for those users who need it disabled, and keep the security for everyone else on the site.

Well, I had an idea that passing the variable in question to TinyContent's index.php as a global might work. But it didn't.

Anyone have any ideas of their own? Or do I need to find an alternate way to wrap the script within Xoops?

Sending data to custom script in TinyContent

Hello, I was hoping someone could help me... I've set up a TinyContent page to get some data from my users- they make selections and then hit the submit button. I've then set up a second TinyContent page, this one in PHP, to get and process the data.

My problem is, I'm not sure the data is being sent. I can't get it to display with print() a print statement. I've tried both GET and POST methods for the original form, and I can see the value passed along the URL when I use GET. But still, the page cannot seem to recognize it.

I know that TinyContent works by calling index.php using an id variable in order to display the page to be accessed. I've passed this along fine, but I don't think that my user data is getting passed to the script I've set up- I think it's stopping and TC's index.php, and not actually getting processed by my script.

Has anyone done this before, or had trouble with it? Am I right in guessing how TinyContent works, and if so how do I handle this? Any help would be appreciated!
