Broken log in for 2.0.14 Site

For some reason my site has just broken. Whenever a user logs in, they get the "Thank you for logging in" screen but then it immediately reloads the log in page.

I'm still running 2.0.14 so I thought maybe starting an upgrade process would help fix the problem. I downloaded the 2.0.14 to 2.0.15 files and uploaded them but I can't even log in to start the upgrade. When I do, it just goes straight back to the log in screen.

I've looked though all the files and don't see any "rogue scripts" or any .htaccess files in the directory so I don't think the pages have been hacked.

If someone can help me get past this issue I can go ahead and start the upgrade process to the current version.

Thanks

David

I'd like to do the exact same thing. My users are gettin gconfused over PMs and their other email! I'd rather just turn it off and take it off the menus.

That loud slapping sound your heard was me hitting my forehead. I had downloaded everything ok but when I sent it to my server, I just transfered the HTML directory as /html, not a level lower. Doh!! Redid it and now it looks okay.

Thanks everyone.

@dplittle, as far as I know you don't need go through all those upgrades one by one

According to this FAQ I need to run the first two upgrades and then can do the big jump to 2.0.14.

I did but I'm trying one more time just to make sure.

- you can check the file \include\version.php
If it is 49 bytes large and dated 14.06.2004 then its still 2.07
If it is 113 bytes in size and dated 30.12.2004 then it is 2.09
You can also look into the file.

It did still say 2.0.7 so something isn't happening. I'll see what happens after I reupload.

According to the tutorial to which I was pointed, all I needed to do after uploading was update the System and other modules plus check my custom templates. Am I missing anything? There's no upgrade documentation in the patch zip file.

Thanks

David

I have done and just did it again. Same results.

I am finally getting around to upgrading from version 2.0.7.

I started the process and uploaded the 2.0.7 to 2.0.9.2 files. I upudated all my modules and the system seems to still be working fine. However, before going on to 2.0.10 in preparation to going to 2.0.14 I wanted to make sure everything was okay.

I happened to notice at the bottom of my Admin page that it still lists the version as 2.0.7. I don't want to just keep moving on if things aren't really getting applied correctly.

I do use a custom template but there is no change if I go back to using the Default template. Is this a cache issue? How else can I find out what version I am actually running? The System module stills shows version 1.

Thanks

I'm trying to do the same thing. I have a couple long News items that I'd like to break up in to smaller chunks but then link them back together. If I use the standard url tag, I get a new window when the link is clicked. This is appropriate behavior for offsite links but I'd rather the system just replace the current window with onsite links. It would seem a hack could check the onsite/offsite status when relacing the

tags.

Setting Default Notifications

We are using XOOPS as an employee "portal" and many of my users are technically challenged. Trying to get them to go through and add notifications is next to impossible (I've had to force them to even log in!!).

My question is ... has anyone got a solution to let me set the default notifications so that things like "new file" and "new news" notifications are set when I create a new user? What about going back and adding notifications to existing users? I went through the database before and just hand added some but would rather do it through the interface to be safe.

Thanks

Product Inventory Module. eCommerce?

I'm looking for a way to show my users a list of items and how many we have in stock. We're using XOOPS as our internal info portal and we have two office locations. Sometimes we need to send stuff back and forth. Right now we have a spreadsheet that lists items and how many each office has. From this we can request transfers between the offices. Managing this spreadsheet is a pain. What I'd like is something like the spreadsheet that lets me manage these numbers and at the minimum, show my users how many of each item we have.

Next step up would be to let users request an item.

I've been looking at some of the eCommerce packages but none really have an inventory number. Has anyone seen a module that does something like this?

David
