I like this and want something similiar so I am having a go at creating it to put into a block. Getting the servers load average is pretty easy if you use a linux host but parsing that info and creating images to display it are new to me so maybe I will learn a thing or two.

I want to make an admin only module that will simulate telnet access (with a text editor as well). The problem is that I am very new to XOOPS and have no clue what exactly I should include in the admin files. I have followed the module kickstart guide on wiki.xoops.org but that only tells me what files go where and enough about what goes each file to greet a member by name.

the auto-generated API Doc is hard to understand. There aren't really any explanation on where and how each class/method is used, just a big list of the contents of each file.

To top things off I looked around on dev.xoops.org and thought that if I started my own project on there I could gain access to the dev forums and get my questions answered there, but, when I followed the link to learn how to start a new project it just told me to follow the start new project link in the main menu, which does not exist.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well until this is resolved I would add this to your .htaccess file...

order allow,deny
deny from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
allow from all

Just to stop them. I wish I knew more about ip banning through XOOPS so I could help.

No it can, I think he did not want it in a subdirectory though and thought he had to. Although, if you or anyone else has a similiar problem as his after installing into a subdirectory with fantastico I would love to know so I can try and squash it.

Well I have about one week of experience with Xoops2 and I love it but still am very unfamiliar with the API. I plan on developing my own module to learn more about it and then I might just try and help out with the NewBB module, I would like to see it become a good competitor amongst vB, phpBB2 and IPB.

With fantastico in order to install in the root dir just ignore the field that says to put it in a sub-directory, just leave it blank. My suggestion is to re-install it or get ahold of the original theme.html file and start anew.
