you're right. there's something in it.
SELECT t1.tpl_id FROM xoops_tpl_file t1, xoops_tpl_file t2 WHERE t1.tpl_module = t2.tpl_module AND t1.tpl_set=t2.tpl_set AND t1.tpl_file = t2.tpl_file AND t1.tpl_id > t2.tpl_id
Error number: 1146
Error message: Table 'xoopsdb.xoops_tpl_file' doesn't exist
what does that mean though ?

no. I'm afraid that I didn't.
I can try it now if that'll help.
however, it seems that the link to the file's broken.

for those who might encounter similar problems.
This is actually a duplicated template/block problem that's already known for quite a while.
And Mithrandir's actually providing a fixing script on duplicated templates.
for all the information, you might find it here.
for that in my case, mine's the block that was duplicated, I can only did a template set clone and delete those duplicated ones in the cloned template set as a temporary solution.

thanks a lot for the help and the script.
just checked again and found that those duplicated in my system are all blocks.
so .. instead of running the script, I can only do a template clone and use the new one as my template set, which, actually, solved my problem quite ok.

I got three in my newbb module(2.0.2), posted in this thread.
Currently running 2.0.9.2.
Will upgrading to 2.0.10 elimitate those duplicated ones ?

tried to turn on the smarty template debug on and found that the "recent topic" block's really empty with content.

there're 2 "recent topics" block templates shown in my admin-template and the system keeps taking the wrong one (with no code at all in it) to display recent topics.
Is there any way that I can delete the wrong duplicated template ?
I checked the template directory under module/newbb but there's only one file named newbb_block.html. why does the system keep showing 2 template files for the recent topic block in admin-template.
Is it stored in the database ? Any way I can get rid of the wrong one ?
