For no apparent reason, the site has crashed showing:

"XOOPS path check: Script is not inside XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and cannot run."

No changes have been made on the server or in the XOOPS configuration files leading up this event, and my other XOOPS installations for the same account on the same server still work fine. The database and application files all seem fully intact as usual.

I have attemted, resulting in no success, changing:
define('XOOPS_CHECK_PATH', 1) to
define('XOOPS_CHECK_PATH', 0);

What could have caused this crash to occur and how does one rectify it?
Could something in the database have been corrupted?
What is the exact script in reference?

I am running 2.0.7.

Many thanks.

there is i-radio in early stages of development:
https://xoops.org/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?cid=24&lid=785

and also
http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/showfiles.php?group_id=1024

there is also a another web application called Netjuke, unrelated to xoops

good luck.

Yes. Anonymous users have news module viewing priveledges and correct intra-modular privledges for relevant topics. Php debug is on.

Strangely, now after switching off "Restrict Topics on index page" all stories show up *except* the truck systems story.

Thanks for the reply.

The result is still the same - no news displayed.

However, when logged in as administrator or another registered user, the news pages displays as normal.

It'd be great if the answer were so straightforward..

We would be seeing the story in the HTML source, if it were to work.

Thanks nonetheless.

For example:

go here:
http://www.fairtip.com/f/

click news item 'truck systems hire' (it shows)

then click 'news' at right - article doesn't show.

--thanks for your help and interest.

When posting an item in a particular topic, it is viewable in the block and then the full item appears after clicking, but that same item is not viewable on the news index page. There is no change to this behaviour regardless of whether "Restrict Topics on Index Page?" is set.

The block seems to be working properly, whereas the news index page might not be calling all the articles for those it has permissions to load.

If it helps, IPB and PhpBB are available for XOOPS at:

Hi, an enhancement for News 1.2 would be that articles for which the user is not entitled to view are not displayed on the module's home page, rather than having them displayed, and then being rejected from their viewing once clicked. Same could be applied to commenting/comment-viewing permissions if ever developed.

Thank you and keep up the fine work.

Hi Guys,

I'm using xoop 2.0.7.1 and news 1.2.

When Anonymous, upon submitting news, one gets a blank page with php debug reading

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/groot/publicl/faip/f/modules/news/submit.php on line 209

line 209 is:

$story -> setUid( $xoopsUser -> uid() );

When logged in as admin, I do not get the problem.

I have customised the permissions settings in news.

Would there be any errors on my behalf that I could correct?

Also, it would be great if the news submission form blanked out the categories for the categories the user was not permitted.

Thank-you in advance.
