My need is that I define a few products, attached to categories or subcategories. This can be made by webmasters only. Redaers can then "review" the products. Myreviews can do that but I would need these adaptations :

( to be short : add a few fields and change the way datas are displayed; for the detail, see above :)

- get rid of some useless things (onion, we recommend it, love at first sight, hall of fame)
- in the index.php, have a few other blocks : list of categories, 5 products with their screenshot, 5 most popular products (depending on # of views), extract of 5 reviews
- In the "reviewing" part (readers side): Add 4 fields to what is existing : price paid for the product; pros; cons; would you recommend it ?; Add the smilies and XOOPS colors for text system (for the moment there is no option for the review (just the same as everywhere elese in XOOPS system)
- When clicking on a product : Have the description of it (street price, description, views, reviews, overall rating and other defined ratings (myreviews allows to create categories of reviewing) and the screenshot. Under this, the reader's reviews, sorted by date (10 reviews by page, with "1, 2, 3 ..." for the number of following pages (to the older reviews); in fact, the way smartsection handles reviews would be nice (with the mising fields).
- Finally, If I could have alarger screenshot (handle this in the admin part), everything would be perfect.

the Fred miranda's site displays things the way I would like them (it's another PHP script that does the job).

As you can see, what is the most important to me is not what the webmaster creates (the description of the product), but what the users and readers say (review) of the product. That's what is quite different of others modules I have seen. Myreviews does quite the job. The admin part is great.

Do you think it is a big job ?

I am looking for months for a reviewing module. I know "Myreviews", and it meets some of my needs; but I would need to adapt it a little bit.

Others talked to me about smartsection; it is great too, ut it would also need some adaptations, I think more than the "myreviews" one.

Could anyone help me ? I don't have the skillz to adapt these modules; If Myreviews was chosen, I think the adaptations might not take weeks of work ...

Any help would be appreciated ...

Hi !

I am currently building a new web site project.

Therefor, I need a "review" module; a few exist, but none meets my needs. One is close though, and I would like a little help to adapt it, as I am not skilled enough to do that alone.

The existing module is "myreviews", available on xoops.org.
It is fine, but would need a few adptations :
I just need a module that has categories, subcategories, and products.

The "product" part is a review of it with just a few fields (picture and a fwe text fields).

Then comes the review part. Registered users only, with a few fields : pros, cons, price paid, description (aka the review itself), ratings on the product on specific items (myreviews allows to create such items depending on categories or subcategories), and that's about it (+ total of reviews, of views, etc ..., etc ... but it is kind of a standard).

A few blocks to present the information, and that's about it. I am very close to "myreviews", but don't have the skillz to adapt this module to my needs.

That's why I come here with my demand.

Thanx for any help !

As I cannot find what I want, I figured out I could work on it and create (=adapt) a module to meet my needs ...

I found out I would start from Wf-Downloads 2.05 : it has reviewing abilities (I will have to develop them, but it has the background), and it can handle categories, subcategories, and products (in state of files to download).

What I would like is to have the reviews under a product (=wfdownload's file) description : the "review.php" file does this.

I tried to copy and paste the code at the end of "singlefile.php", but with no succeed.

Could anyone help me out there ? The aim for the moment is just to have these reviews under the products.

Thanx !

Hi !

I have a PHP script that I would like to transform into a xoosp module. This script is Reviewpost. This would be the right module for my need.

I know through the installation that reviewpost can be linked with PhpBB2 forums, with VBportal, etc ... So i imagine that it can be possible to adapt it to be linked with XOOPS system.

Who would know someone that might help me through this process ? I have no skillz in PHP and I regret that.

Thanx in advance for the support.

You did not understand me ... If I buy this script, do you think it will be hard to make it a XOOPS module, knowing that it comes already "preconfigured" to be linked with PhpBB or Vbulletin.

If I buy it, would anyone be kin denough to help me convert it to a XOOPS module ?

Thanx

I found out that the reviewing tool I found was Reviewpost Pro.

On their website, they say that they have linked it with Vbulletin or PHPBB.

Would it be hard to integrate it to XOOPS ?

I am looking for a module that would allow users to review some hardware ... I discovered "myReview" module but it seems quite old to me, ans does not seem to have any support anymore. ore than this, it does not meet my need exactly ....

An example of hhat I am looking for is lFred Mirandoa's site qThat proposes reviews of photographic material.

Categories, subcategories, and then the list of products. Only admin could change that list, and users can rate, comment ... the products.

Does any one have an idea ?

Thanx !

Hi Guys !

Here is a repost of a question I submitted one year ago in wf-projects. It is all in an authorization problem. I think the problem should be quite easy to solve, for someone skilled in XOOPS developing. I am not skilled in XOOPS progamming, then I can't solve it on my own.

Quote:

One year ago, I <a href="http://www.wf-projects.com/archive/modules/ipboard/index.php?act=ST&f=11&t=680&s=4a2a10657df39c7e80105d85cf524185" target="_blanK">submitted a problem</a> that I have with Wf-Downloads.
The problem lies in authorization, and I think it only belongs to one file "viewcat.php".
This problem alllows anyone to access the content of any category you define, even if the user does not belong to the authorized group.

It is important enough to avoid using Wf-Downloads on my website.

I am really sad about that, because WF-Downloads is the perfect module for what I need.

I am really sad that one year later, hothing has changed. No newd whether someone is try to sole it, or not. Well, I think someone told once in the forum that another one was working on it but ... nothing.

I was disapointed to see that the 2.05b version did not solve that problem at all.

Do believe me, if I was skilled enough to work on that problem, I would have, long time ago. But I don't.

I will post the same post on xoops.org, maybe someone will be able to solve that issue.

Even i am disappointed and illusionfree now, I thank the whole team for the work that is done.

I am sorry to insist, but I can't achieve my goal; so i'll be more precise :

I would like to have a list of the links in a category : in fact, the template used to display the links (viewcat.php) is perfect, BUT misses only one thing : the link (http://www.mysite.com/page1.html).

And I can't do that in html, neither in PHP. So if anyone could help me, it would be nice.

Thanx.
