I can tell you from experience with both PHPNuke and XOOPS,,

XOOPS loads SO MUCH Faster and is way less of a server/SQL drain. I ran PHP Nuke on the same machine I now run XOOPS on and there is no comparison.

Also, the Admin/backend section of PHPNuke is od awful.. nothing like the simplistic module based XOOPS which is so much easier to get setup.

Found lots of little things that don't quite work with PHPNuke,, and my XOOPS site worked from the fist install without one single glitch.

change Xoops's date format and you will see the effet in Agenda-X

I'm sorry wjue, but that is not true. You can see it has been changed and works for every module except Agenda-x.

See Here:
http://hair-metal.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/

Notice the Newbb is changed but Agendax is not.

any ideas?

Thanks Dave,

This helped a bunch:
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.date.php

And for anyone else you can change it here:
/xoops/html/language/english/global.php

Line 160
define("_DATESTRING","n/j/Y g:i A");

Line 161
define("_MEDIUMDATESTRING","n/j/Y g:i A");

Line 162
define("_SHORTDATESTRING","n/j/Y");

I hope that helps someone with the same problem.

Now, if anyone can help me fix the global date functions for agendax-x that would be awesome. Nothing helpful or up to date here or on the agenda-x site that I could find.

I didnt see anyone mention a configurable date in the admin section. Not to sound rude, but for people in the states 2004.01.12 is not an acceptable date format.

I've tried editing the code myself and I am no PHP expert but I cannot seem to find a global place to make everything n/j/Y as I did in my global.php for the rest XOOPS site.

Something like this:

define("_DATESTRING","n/j/Y g:i");

Any suggestions or solutions for this would be much appreciated.

I know its a stupid American problem, but the date format on XOOPS globally is kinda funky for us here in the states.

How do I get: 2004.01.13
to show up as: 01.13.2004

Anyone? Which files are these set in? I see them in Agendax and the NewBB which is where they tend to be most visible.

Oh,, and how do you get rid of military time to regular?

Thanks!
Craig

Thanks Bassman,

I can honestly say though, I'm a much better guitar player than i am a site designer, but with XOOPS it makes it a lot easier.

Let me know what you think and what i can do to make it better,,, especially with colors and backgrounds which I can't seem to get looking good.
