Yeah that might have gotten a better response...

I noted that sessions arent used here so I took that as a sign and shut them off on my site.

One of the problems I discovered today with sessions is that once you are in a topic on the forum the session id is in the link so when user A instant messages that to user B and user B follows that link he magically becomes user A.

This of course immediately degraded into the two users modifying each others profiles.

Is there a workaround for this?

you can easily get rid of the clocks by editing the html page in the module directory. I suspect you could resize the world map there as well.

Ok I found the problem. I had a smilie with the code entry of :/ and when the sanitzer was hitting it, it freaked out since that can also be a valid part of an URL.

The other part of the problem is that I also have smile codes like :p and :s and when it gets to smile codes like :penguin: and :smack: it processes just the first part and outputs the smile for :p and then the rest of the letters enguin:

Ive gone the easy route and just changed the smile codes, but it would be nice if the sanitizer could handle them.

Ill cross post this back into the bugs forum also.

Sorry for the repost, but I dont know if the bug section was the best place for this... and I dont see a way to move my own posts.

I have XOOPS 2.5.1 installed, with the pbboard mod (integrates PHPbb 2.0.6 into Xoop) With this mod the boards use the Xoop smiles table, and everything is working quite well, *except* on the forms used to add news and such.
For some of the smiles I get a malformed URL on the actual posting for the image file.
Right clicking on the RedX I see http<img%20src=
For the Address portion it showshttp://mountianshire.net/modules/news/http<img%20src=

Ive checked to make sure the files all exist where they belong and permissions are correct. Smiles all work great on the boards.

When it adds a smile correctly Im getting (ps this isnt a valid image just an example)http://mountainshire.net/uploads/smileyfilename.gif

OK Ive tracked the issue down to the text sanitzer, but I cant seem to figure out why some are working and some arent is this file documented in detail somewhere? What would the chances of success be if I switch out htmlspecialcharacters for htmlentities for image links?

Im about to just rip out the textarea editor and slap in htmlarea fromhttp://www.interactivetools.com/products/htmlarea/ just so it doesnt use the sanitzer (and htmlarea looks really cool)

Some of these might be in newBB already, I only tested it long enough to see it fell short of my needs (no offense).

Far more extensive permissions, including layered groups.
Private forums unviewable except to those who have perms (meaning noone should even see it is there unless they belong).
Polls in topics.
Subscribe to topics with email digest option.
Very granular permission options.
Integrated and improved private message system.
Mass delete of posts and topics, and ability to delete individual posts.
Auto prune with delete or archive option.
Not sure if this is already there as I havent tested this far - but topic splitting and moving, including option to move single posts.
Better reorganization options (it was easier to edit the db tables than to try and rearrange a large complex forum with the included tools).
Better user ban controls.
Posts included on reply pages so you can easily reference what you are responding to.
File attach options.
Email via board address masking.
Print format view.
Flood control.
Duplicate post detection (for those who are to impatient and just have to click submit twice).
Calendar/event system.
Moderator logging (to keep track of what they are doing) including rollback options to undo mistakes they might make.
RSS options for keeping a close eye on topics or whole categories.
Detailed board statistics.
One click board backups.
PM notification, and read receipts.

One more I just noticed.. After posting.. return to where your post is instead of top of the thread.
*sigh* and another... It will have to be easy to transfer all of the old data to newbb regardless of the size of the forum :)
