please help me i'm at my wits end :(

Hello all,
I have been using XOOPS now for a long time however it has been a long time since i have created a website

I have uploaded XOOPS onto my site using my FTP XOOPS verison 1.3.10
Here is my database configuration

Database MySQL

Database Hostname localhost

Database Username dandselectronic

Database Password *********

Database Name dandselectronic

Table Prefix XOOPS

Use persistent connection? Yes

XOOPS Physical Path /customers/dandselectronics.co.uk/dandselectronics.co.uk/httpd.www

XOOPS Virtual Path (URL)http://dandselectronics

I go through all the motions click next , then says enter a username and password, the click next to create tables, then all i get is a white screen with a message saying
"can not create xoops_session"
Now i've been chating to the web provider and they have other XOOPS sites on there so it should work :/ there is no firewalls or other settings that would stop me from uploading this

PLEASE SOMONE HELP !!!!

lmao,

i have been trying for DAYS !!! to get a music block on the site, i dont know how to do it i've looked everywhere but theres nothing anywhere that tells me how to do it

( also need help in another topic look at the introdutions one plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz )

OK what i need is a front page to the site like a introdution page,

which will have only a big background pic on some banners and things and a enter button to the main page and a button to the forums as well as other things how can i do this ??

becuase i've been trying for ages and cant seem to find a way

Hi guys i use XOOPS 2.0.6 ( yes i know i need to update

)

however my members seem to be having a problem with there sigs now me and 3 others can use them ok , i'm a webmaster and the others are mods i'm not sure if that has somthing to do with it but i really dont want to give everyone mod rights just so they can see a sig, now the sig shows up on there profiles but not on the forums

i have done everything i can think of , everyone has the "always show sig "box checked and everything else seems to be fine , so it should work

any help would be great thx again

i've had sort of the same problem before , the only way i fixed it was to redo the whole site

How do i do this , i've never done anything like this before but i really need a enw theme for my site so can anyone tell me how to do it

or point me to the "idiots guide to making themes" site

Thx for your help guys it was great , whlie i didnt use a popup becuase it didnt look too good , if it wasnt for u saying make a custom block i wouldnt have been able to do it.

if u have some time take a look , it's not the best site i know as it's only my first one i'm still quite proud of it

Hi again

What i want to do is make a intro page where as soon as u log on my site this pic is the first thing u see i also want to add a link onto it where if u click it u then get onto the front page of my site , can anyone help me to do this ?

i hope i've explaned what i want to do well enough

i had a problem like that not too long ago , what i did was i went into my FTP , located the flie that it said had a error and replaced it with the one thats on my harddrive , it worked after i done that , not saying it's going to work for sure if u do it , but u cant lose anything by it ,

just remember to click update system after u get your site back

well thats what i did to fix mine
