Looks like single quotes in in the forum post response title needs sanitising... doesn't it

Sounds great, as long as it is optional.

I was nominated for the Forum Quote of the Year award in 2008 for my acerbic response to the idea of such a system applying updates automatically

I don't object to seeing ads on websites, but video advertisements are crippling the internet by trying to turn it into a TV.

If you get two or more videos trying to load and play on the same web page, they can reduce the browser to a crawl, even on a powerful PC.

I would use an app that blocked video-ads only, but up to now most of the solutions I have seen just promise to block everything, which does seem unfair.

It think it would be nice if the page navigation links in the forum were buttons. This would make it easier to use on a mobile phone.

I use the following CSS on Xoops 2.5 if you want to try it :

/* pk pagination as buttons */

 #xo-pagenav{float:right}
 #xo-pagenav a.xo-pagarrow { /* page navigation arrows */

display:block

float:left

width30px

height:30px

text-align:center

padding-top3px

margin0 4px 0 4px

border1px solid #ccc;

border-radius:5px;
 -
moz-border-radius:5px;
 -
webkit-border-radius:5px;
   }

#xo-pagenav a.xo-pagarrow:hover{ /* page navigation arrows HOVER */

display:block

float:left

width30px

height:30px;

text-align:center

padding-top3px

margin0 4px 0 4px;

border1px solid #ccc;

background-color#eee;

border-radius:5px;
 -
moz-border-radius:5px;
 -
webkit-border-radius:5px;
   }

#xo-pagenav .xo-pagact { /* active page */

display:block

float:left

width30px

height:30px

text-align:center

padding-top3px

margin0 4px 0 4px;

border1px solid #ccc;

background-color#98C93B;

border-radius:5px;
 -
moz-border-radius:5px;
 -
webkit-border-radius:5px;
   }

#xo-pagenav a.xo-counterpage { /* visited page */

display:block

float:left

width30px

height:30px

text-align:center

padding-top3px

margin0 4px 0 4px;

border1px solid #ccc;

border-radius:5px;

@sabahan

Can you see the 'New Topic' button at the top of each forum? I can only see a 'Register' button.

Just trying to work out if it's just me having the problem

Thx

No. Sorry Bleekk, I still just see a 'Register' button. Perhaps this is a NewBB permissions bug.

Can any other ordinary (non-admin) users see the 'New Topic' button and start a new topic?

No. All I see in place of where you show a 'New Topic' button is a 'Register' button.

Tried in Firefox and IE and get the same result in several forums.

I am logged in.

You're absolutely right, and Bleekk is working very hard to make it all very user friendly.

Well, congratulations on that!. Very nice work. Looks great on desktop and mobile phone and the forum post text is clear and easy to read. A real step forwards.

There is some button re-sizing on mouse rollovers (probably just needs a CSS tweak) but more significantly I cannot find the 'New Topic' button in the forum? Otherwise I would have posted a 'Congratulations on the new look!' post.

I know the new XO website is a work in progress, but I think it would be a good idea to reveal the topics by default when someone selects a forum from the forum homepage. At present, unless they click the (+) button, the forums appear to be empty.
