Well, as you can read here, the module is no longer under development.
Nevertheless, all files are still available for download here, for instance.
If you or some of your friends are able to fix the problem, I believe this is more than welcome from the XOOPS Community.

It is a pity when a piece of free software stops growing or dies at all.
WebMailFX is probably not died. It will have new life under a different and perhaps better form.
We are all sorry for delays in development, for the inability of fixing all bugs, and so on. But, on the other hand, it is true that there were just two people working on that module: me (mainly as PM) and kaotik.
It is not a big achievement for such a large community not contributing at all to a module which lots of people loved (I estimated at least more than 2,000 downloads over the time) and needed, cause there's almost no one similar in the XOOPS world. But that happened and I don't want to blame anybody.
You'll find some additional infos here.
Best Regards,
ft

It could be possible, perhaps.
But the module is no longer under active development.

Read this all, especially the first post on the second page of the thread. I think you'll understand what seems to going on.

I upgraded 3 sites where I run webmailfx. I have not encountered the problem you're talking about. Could you try to upgrade to latest official XOOPS 2.0.10 and then try to:
-update the module through admin interface;
-when the latter do not work, try a fresh install.

I'd like to add to a module the "generic" banner which appears on the top of module like My Links. I'd like to keep the XOOPS default style. is there anybody who can post me a .psd version of something like this?

Hi cheechon,
first of all, thanx for the kind words and for appreciating the module.
I would say I appreciate your idea. My proposal is, as always: if you, or somebody you know, is able to contribute improvements to the module, just submit it to us. We're really open about that and we look forward to improve module features as much as possible.

How to create custom tags?

Hi everybody,
I'm working on a multilanguage site (english and italian) which uses basically standard modules (news, links, downloads, etc...).
The multilanguage hack by marcan works great but, to help users interact with the platform, I'd like to put in the editor they use for submitting news, links and so on, two additional buttons.
Something like "EN", which will generate the "english language tag", [en][/en], and "IT", which will generate thye "italian language tag", [it][/it].
How could I do that?
Which files do I have to modify?
Thanx in advance,
ft

It seems to me there's still a misunderstanding about the module. I hope that could clarify things.

WHAT IS THIS WEBMAILFX STUFF?
WebMailFX is an email client. It could manage different email accounts and interact directly with Cpanel. This last feature appears to be user confusing: users think this functionality creates automatically email accounts. But where? Well, it creates it on your mailserver IF YOU HAVE ONE. If not, it could not create anything. WebMailFX is not a mailserver: it is just an interface. Think about hotmail: when you register, you create an account on their servers. When they'll give you access to this account via POP3 and SMTP, you could send and receive messages via WebMailFX.

CPANEL
Under certain conditions (dedicated servers, webhosting with unlimited number of emails account, ecc..) you could have an administrative interface to your host. This could be CPanel or others. Normally, you would have to create the email account on the server via CPanel:

ACCOUNT: you@yoursite.com
SETTINGS:
could be something like
mail.yoursite.com
pop3.yoursite.com
smtp.yoursite.com

By configuring the created account in WebMailFX you can send and receive messages.
BUT: IF YOU HAVE NO UNLIMITED EMAIL ACCOUNTS, NO PRIVATE SERVER, NO CPANEL, ETC... THIS FUNCTIONALITY IS USELESS TO YOU!

Hope this helps.
