I needed a method to copy database and single tables in my site.
The site use not only 1 database, but more.

I change old module backup to make this.
I add GUi 2.5 and modify several option

it may be useful: download this

Please try in local

Sorry for english in the translate module.

Roby, this is very good!

Few improvements would be nice:

- read the other databases and show them in a drop-down menu

- the same for "Restore Database" - show the available databases to select, and then select the tables to be restored.

- the "System Backup" would open a Tab, and then you would need to click on a button to initiate the backup. Right now I click on the Tab, but the Tab doesn't open, but instead starts the backup in the background

- It would be good to have a name of the database as prefix of the files. Something like "bkp1204100850" doesn't identify clearly enough which database did the table come from.

Otherwise - very good!

I pressed the backup button several times because nothing seemed to happen, just guess what happened to my mailbox Like mamba says, let it open a new tab.

Adding schedueled automation with a cronjob would make this module really superb!

Oops, after some backup testing protector went bananas and banned me from my site. Strange is I got the banned message with two other ip addresses also. After trying lots of things clearing some files in /xoops_lib/modules/protector/configs gave me access again.

I use Xortify also but it looks like this is purely a protector issue. Any ideas on how to prevent protector from banning after using this backup module?

For backup and restore whole database or individual table I like http://www.mysqldumper.net/ I wish someone could port it to Xoops, it has a feature that overcome the PHP script maximum execution time.

I have correct some problems, please reload module

.

I add confirm box to backup files.

I add name of the database in the file.

I don't have a permission, in my host, to show all database, i can't make a menu..
SHOW DATABASES or mysql_list_dbs not work... there is other solution?

i Add button delete files.. (files saved in uploads/backup)

Thanks Mamba for your approval

@flipse
i backup and restore many tables (not big files) without problem...
Now i don t use Xortify, only problem i had with compress big files

Roby, the "big programmers" here are people like Trabis, ForMuss, Wishcraft, or BitC3R0, I am just helping out

I've created a folder for "backup" on XOOPS SVN, so we can continue with development there. Are you a member on SourceForge?
