Hi All,

On the bottom of some Xoops pages (for a user / visitor) they have a print button, a pdf button, email button etc.

Buttons or Icons

How do they "get them there", or is there a specific module for this? Or it is only dependant on certain pages ?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Link to example?
But I think this is because they have a module as startpage (see admin, preferences) instead of empty and fill it with several standard of selfmade blocks.
As you know and can see lot of modules have those icons on the bottom of the article.
Content, news, xnews and so on.

Most people want just to look around on a site. By making the register/login page your start page, you will make the impression that there is nothing to see without login and scare away people.

Current trend or tendency is to have the login in some corner (see also here in the top right) and even not having the fields at all, but only a small icon that links to the login page to be used by the people who know how and when to log in.

Many thanks for the reply.

This xoops site, is just for key people of a Church.. Rector, Wardens who will act as a Administrator or User - which will gain them (and only them) access to the Xoops site.

It is them who will need a log-in panel to enter a user name/password to 'get in' to see relevant information.

As for the icons - I understand this is dependant on which module to install? Icons for pdf, email, print etc.

Another site / public site (non member) is been set up by Wordpress.

Correct. It's up to the individual module to have the functionality, and the programmer has to write code for it.

The icons themselves are in the /modules/system/images/icons/default directory

Ok thank you very much Mamba, that's what I thought. I will try and find some modules with the icons "in".
