hello,

i have a host from our university. they only give me a ftp user/pass and i don't have accessto change permission of the files below:

uploads/
mainfile.php
include/license.php
xoops_data/caches
xoops_data/caches/xoops_cache
xoops_data/caches/smarty_cache
xoops_data/caches/smarty_compile
xoops_data/configs

also they opened a mysql account but it's not working properly. so i need to install xoops from another physical host but i don't know how to do that.

i have a reseller account bought from a company. i can do what i want to the new host, make everything writable, give an access point for our university etc.

So please immediatley help me..

FTP has a chmod command to set the permissions.

It is as with any other host: upload the files, set permissions, install.

it's forbidden to set permissions. i can't do it. and mysql is not working properly..
