Hi
I am a newbie to using XOOPS. My content is being upload to the folder
httpdocs/modules/content/content

I was able to upload PDFs to this folder using the UI until now when i started seeing the error
Content Directory is not writeable. Chmod a+w the directory.

I have changed the permissions on the httpdocs/modules/content/content to 777 ( which was 755 initially). This has enabled new PDFs to be uploaded. But do i open a security issue? Why did this error suddenly start showing? I am on ver2.0

Thanks
Sonali

It might be that your hoster did change something.
If the hoster has set up his servers secure, it should not matter if it is 777 or 755.

If your content module contains the SPAW editor remove its directory, because it has a security leak.
