i m gettting Could not copy the distribution file to mainfile.php error during installation. what to do? i already provided the necessary permission to the directories. plz help.

It can mean several things:
- Your sessions are not working. Check your hoster documentation, if the use of PHP sessions need extra measures as eg. the creation of extra files and/or directories.
- the path you have given as XOOPS root path is wrong.
- your mainfile.php is not overwritable by the server (Apache user). Check the permissions of this file.

Thanks ghia... the problem is solved. it was the problem of permission to the file mainfile.php.
