How to include a browser type on Statistics module?

Hi All,

I am just wondering how to include Chrome or safari as a browser type in statistics module.


I am using Site Statistics by IBDeeming (V0.45)
on XOOPS v 2.3.1

My current statistics is :

MSIE: 17.84 % (70813)
Netscape: 1.508 % (5985)
Opera: 4.873 % (19337)
Konqueror: 0.396 % (1573)
Lynx: 0 % (0)
Firefox: 3.224 % (12793)
AppleWebKit: 2.076 % (8239)
Mozilla: 2.711 % (10760)
Deepnet: 0.231 % (919)
Avant: 0.137 % (547)
Search Engines: 62.97 % (249866)
Unknown: 4.019 % (15949)

Also do you know if the chrome or safari is counted under Search engines or Unknown?

I think Safari is counted under Webkit. And Chrome also?

What's wrong with google analytics or statcounter? It's easier to use it :)

Well..... I am using google analytics (GA).

However some forum suggests that GA could bring down your page ranking. and at present my page rank is 4 so i am not sure if this is becasue i am using GA or there is something else missing in my website.

I have never tried statcounter, I should try that.

As per original question, is it easy to add a new browser type on the statistics module.

By using Google tools on your site, you give them the tools to monitor the real traffic on your site and so give you a more 'accurate' page rank, which may be lower.

I have doubts against Statcounter. It is here and there linked to SPAM or other questionable operations.

Using third party tools, doesn't come with benefits alone. You get sometimes more than wanted and give also a lot of things away. Free webservices are doing it for a reason!

Thanks, this was really good to know. I will live it with Google Analytics for sometime and see if the page ranking improves.

On coincidence, we had a discussion on XOOPS.NL about the open source packet Piwik as opposed to Google Analytics.
