Hello Guys, first of all thanks for the answer of my first post about XOOPS Blocks into html page.

Now I get really confused, what is it all about Xoops, XOOPS Cube Legacy and Impress CMS.

For example can a XOOPS Cube theme or module used with Xoops.
What is the difference between XOOPS Cube and Xoops.

I am working on a XOOPS Thai Version 2.0.16 , it seems that the admin of Impress is easier and faster to use. Did not look into XCL.

Are the new versions similar to Impress.

And last not least can all modules be implemented into any system, Impress claims that.

And is there somewhere a list which modules are working for the newest XOOPS version.

I am running on my site,

xdirectory_oz
news
newbb
contact_plus
classfieds
smartfaq
googletranslator
myalbum
wordbook
dictionary
mytabs

it took me quite some time to make them all work, because all modules seem to have plenty of bugs, I did by going through the forums fix 98% of issues except one issue on smartfaq which was posted on several boards but never fixed.

So I am extremely hesitant to upgrade or even install a new version.

Thank you for your input

You obviously didn't try the new Admin GUI in 2.4.2
Once you try it, you'll love it...

All of them can, if you have the required level of skills to make them run, in case you encounter compatibility issues. Most of the time, there are no issues, unless modules are created specifically for a particular platform. But if you have the skills, you can make all the required changes and make it run on XOOPS.

Just install XOOPS 2.4.2 locally (e.g. WAMP Server), and test the modules you have and see if they work. And if you have problems, just come back here and we'll try to help...
