Hi,

I've noticed that when I'm trying to share my page on Facebook and eg. Digg, they doesn't read page title and metatag description.

I thought that the problem is in slow DNS servers or server in general BUT, when I changed smarty variable from:

to

It works! The other problem is that in first case I had no title and desc. but had pictures from the site to choose. In 2nd case I jave proper title and desc. but have no photo to choose.

Any experience with this issue?

I'm not shure is this a theme or core or smarty bug, or is it a bug after all? Anyway, Mamba please put this topic in right place. :)

The <{$xoops_charset}> is normally replaced with the _CHARSET definition from /language/yourlanguage/global.php
You can see the result in the HTML source with your browser.

PS If there is something else then UTF-8, it is probably there for a reason! Don't change it! It would mean that the other sites are not capable to handle your site's character set.

My base is UTF-8, and I've tried anything else. I know that the tag is replaced by something similar in XOOPS, but AFAIK this problem is common in other CMSes. :)
