Hello,

I hope you can help me. My host has transferred my XOOPS 2.2.4 site to a new server but there are a few things wrong. The DNS has not yet been switched so I've been testing it by adding a line to my hosts file on my computer.

Here are the issues so far:
1. The PHP debug option no longer works. Could this be due to a server setting? Do some hosts not allow this debug option? It worked fine on the other server.
2. The Content module will not allow me to save my edits. Surely this is a database and/or permission issue but I just can't find it.
3. My DMS module no longer works. It worked great before. Now I get a white page when I try to view a file. I'm thinking this too is a permissions issue. Unfortunately, my debug isn't working so I can't tell.

All other modules seem to be working.

The host did update mainfile.php with new database info and website paths but when they created a new database, they named it differently. Would that matter? They did change it in the mainfile.php also and they ported the old data into the new.

Server/system info:
PHP version 5.2.6
MySQL version 5.0.22
XOOPS 2.2.4 (sorry, can't update to newer version yet)
Content module version: 0.5
DMS module version: 1.4

I've tried updating the modules - which did clear some issues but the above will not go away. I hope I can get help from you so that when I contact my host - if I need to, I can tell them what I need fixed. Otherwise, I'd like to fix it myself with your help.

Thanks everyone!

Hope

Check what PHP version did you have before the transfer. If it was 4.x, then it's possible that your DMS module needs to be updated to PHP5

I am not sure about the debug - why it doesn't work...

-1- Check your php.ini and look out for the line with error_reporting. I could look like this:
error_reporting  =  E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE

What is yours?
-2- and -3- check all required permissions on special folders of the module.
If other modules are working, then your database settings are correct. The database name is of no importance, as long as mainfile.php is set to the same.

Thank you Mamba and ghia. I did end up upgrading my DMS module due to the PHP version. Thank you for that suggestion or I wouldn't have known. That module seems to be working okay but I prefer the way the older version displayed folder lists. It works though and I'm happy with that.

There were some strange things going on for a while like the debug issue but the support tech did help out and all seems fine now after many hours of working on that and smaller issues.

I'll be back if something else pops up. So glad I have a place to get help - thanks for being here!

Hope

If the module uses a template for displaying the lists, maybe you can modify the appearance to the old style again.

Thanks ghia. Maybe one day I'll get to it. It's pretty low on my to-do list for now. Too many things to do, too little time!
